OpenNMS and JMX

Hi everybody,

I'm a newbie to OpenNMS. I'm trying to develop a monitoring solution for a J2EE platfrom. Naturally, I'm using JMX a lot. By searching in the web that OpenNMS offers a support for JMX. I've some questions about this :
- I'd like to know if OpenNMS just collects JMX information or can also calls the "sets methods" of JMX MBeans
- Does OpenNMS has a support of JSR 262 (Web Service connectors) ?

Any link, document about OpenNMS JMX support is welcome.

Regards,
Youcef.

Hi,

there was a discussion in this list regarding "opennms fails to start
on solaris" with some longer explanations, maybe you find something
there - permissions to create sockets or something like this.

Other than yum

Hey fellas,

Running into MEGAFITs with yum.

Tried yum and rhel4 no dice.  Reloaded to rhel5. Reloaded yum.  I have attempted to clean all, reload cache and to reinstall it.

I am plagued by the puking of python continuously such that I cannot get yum to "yum".

Is there any other way I can install opennms?  Is there a tarball or a single RPM?

But I bet we're better off trying to solve your yum problem; could you
