maven compile fails in offline mode

Hi,

I am trying to install OpenNMS 1.6.2-1, with maven in offline mode, because of proxy restrictions. I downloaded the Maven repository and put it in

~/.m2/repository

First I tried   ./build.sh install assembly:directory-inline

But it fails, and then I tried mvn –o compile

This also fails with following error message.

ERROR] BUILD ERROR

[INFO] ------------------------------------------------------------------------

[INFO] Failed to resolve artifact.

No versions are present in the repository for the artifact with a range [1.6.0,)

  javax.samples.jnlp:jnlp-jardiff:jar:null

I check the repository it has jnlp-jardiff-1.6.0.jar in ~/.m2/repository/javax/samples/jnlp/jnlp-jardiff/1.6.0/

But it is still showing this error.

Any help in this regards will highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Himanshu

Antw: New install 1.7 (removed old rpm's/deleted files)

Obviously you deleted only the opennms installation, but this does not delete the database.

You should log into the database as user postgres and drop the database:

psql -U postgres -c "drop database opennms"

then rerun

	./install -l /usr/local/lib -dis (from /opt/opennms/bin)

and then check that iplike is installed correctly, see

	http://www.opennms.org/index.php/IPLIKE

-Michael

>>> buzzmc2 <buzzmc2 <at> gmail.com> 30.01.2009 18:44 >>>
I tried (and failed apparently) to remove all my old 1.3.6 files/rpm's/
etc, and start fresh with 1.7 on RHEL4.

The new RPM's installed fine (rpm -ivh opennms*.rpm)

I then ran the installer with:

./install -l /usr/local/lib -dis (from /opt/opennms/bin)

And it died with some form of Java heap/out of memory error (which I
did not get a screen cap of).

I rebooted and tried running the installer again, and now I get this:

- checking database for old backup tables... Exception in thread
"main" One or more backup tables from a previous install still exists--
aborting installation. You either need to remove them or rename them
so they do not contain the string '_old_'.
Backup tables:
	events_old_1233336908141
	at
org.opennms.netmgt.dao.db.InstallerDb.checkOldTables(InstallerDb.java:
1644)
	at org.opennms.install.Installer.install(Installer.java:237)
	at org.opennms.install.Installer.main(Installer.java:778)

I even found info about this in common problems when building from
source.. But all I really want is a clean isntall w/1.7, not to have
to try and manually fix a database that I thought I had gotten rid of
in the first place.

Thanks,

-b

We should put some kind of warning on the installer. If you have a
huge events table the installer could run out of memory trying to
convert it. The way around it is to edit the install script and change
the -Xmx value to something higher.

You can go into the database and rename the events_old_1233336908141
table to events.

But as Michael mentions, the best thing to do is just drop the
database if you want to start fresh.

standalone-opennms-installer-1.6.2.jar install jicmp error on x64 windows2003

Hello List,
Since below is a lot of detail, my question is:
1. Why opennm became very slow after 1~2 days?
1. How to install opennms 1.6.2 on x64 windows using 64bit java?
--------here is the problem's detail
We want to change our old openview to opennms.
My server: windows2k3 R2 standard x64 Edition, Xeon E5405 2.0G, 4G MEM.
Our env: 700+ node (switch & routers)
I set up a 1.6.2 with jdk1.6.0_07(32bit) and it works as expected. But one day's later, it becames very very slow for the web UI. So I guess maybe I need to use the x64 version of java. Then I installed the jdk1.6.0_12(64bit) and made a fresh install of 1.6.2 again.
The installation failed at last step, it said no jicmp found(I tried rename the -win64 and copy to the system folder). I tried google for a day, only found this:http://www.raccoonfink.com/2008/12/twio-2008-12-12.html (I tried rename the -win64 and copy to the system folder), Benjamin said 1.6.2 should work for win64?

Since the installation failed, I installed it using 32bit java and try to start it using 64bit java(rename the -win64):
E:\OPENNMS\opennms\bin>"D:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_12\bin\java" -Xmx768m -Dopennms.home="E:/OPENNMS/opennms" -jar "E

libjicmp.so

Hello,

I am trying to install OpenNMS 1.7.1 from the fedora repositories on f10 x86_64. But I have also had this issue with the current stable build.

The issue is that when running the ./install -dis it complains that it cannot find libjicmp.so this file is in /usr/lib64/ and I have tried this with the -l switch. I  have also attempted a sym link to the lib directory in side the openNMS install directory.

Anyone else had this issue and knows how to fix it ?

Cheers,

Neil

Does /opt/opennms/etc/libraries.properties contain:
opennms.library.jicmp=/usr/lib64/libjicmp.so
