is that defined in data collections.xml file?

do I need to do anything in collections.xmls file?

Re: printer monitoring

What you get back depends a great deal on the printer manufacture and
model.

Check the sysObjectID of the printer itself, and then see if you can find
it in datacollection-config.xml.

If it's not there in some way shape or form, you'll have to put something
together to help OpenNMS identify printer-specific data points.

cheers,
Klaus

Re: printer monitoring

If your device shows up and is collecting MIB-II SNMP data, for instance,
you should only have to make changes to datacollection-config.xml

I've found with some of my devices that I needed to tweak OID and OID mask
settings.

Betreff: [opennms-discuss] 1.10.0 and Dashboard exception

Hi!

I've upgraded to 1.10.0 and everthing seems to work but the dashboard. I get following

com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.IncompatibleRemoteServiceException: This application is out of
date, please click the refresh button on your browser. ( Expecting version 6 from server, got 7. )

Can someone tell me what I did wrong during the update and how I can fix it. Thx!

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Problem with DataCollection interface naming on LevelOne Switch

Hi

I see from the DataCollection Howto wiki that:

/For each interface on the node that is being used for data collection,
a subdirectory will exist consisting of the interface description
(ifDescr) and the MAC address. The MAC address was added because on some
switches, multiple ports will have the same ifDescr. There have been
tales of devices where the interfaces had both the same ifDescr and MAC
address, and at the moment no solution exists for that case. So, if on
node 18 there was an interface described as "eth0", its RRD directory
would be |/var/opennms/rrd/snmp/18/eth0-[MAC Addr.]|. Into that
directory would go all interface specific RRD files such as
ifInOctets.rrd and ifOutOctets.rrd/

The LevelOne switches have different ifDesc for each interface, but the
same ifName.

Only one rrd folder is being created with [ifName]-[MAC-Addr] with
pretty strange output. Anyway to force it to use ifDesc, or part of instead?

IF-MIB::ifDescr.1 = STRING: Port1: 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T
IF-MIB::ifDescr.2 = STRING: Port2: 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T
IF-MIB::ifDescr.3 = STRING: Port3: 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T
IF-MIB::ifDescr.4 = STRING: Port4: 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T
IF-MIB::ifDescr.5 = STRING: Port5: 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T
IF-MIB::ifDescr.6 = STRING: Port6: 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T
IF-MIB::ifDescr.7 = STRING: Port7: Dual Media for 1000Base-T/1000Base-SX/LX
IF-MIB::ifDescr.8 = STRING: Port8: Dual Media for 1000Base-T/1000Base-SX/LX

final thesis

Hi,

I'm student of Technical University in Kosice, Slovakia. I am using
Opennms in my final thesis. I want to ask if I can monitor certain
indicators from specific web page. Such as: current number of visitors at
page, size of the web page at the moment, response time of the page. And
set some Threshold to generate event if some conditions are met. For
example: if response time is higher than 400 ms, and number of visitors is
more than 1000 and size is over 20kB. Is that possible with Opennms?

Thanks!

Config for low threshold on a router interface

Hello List

i want to configure a low threshold.

For example. On a specified router i want monitor an interface. If the Bits
per second went under 200 kbit/s opennms should sent me a notification. If
the bits per second went above 500 kbit/s the threshold should be rearmed
and i should get a resolved notification.

What i have to do to configure the threshold? Below you can find my config:

<threshold description="Monitoring Bits per second" type="low"
            ds-type="if" value="200.0" rearm="500.0" trigger="1"
            triggeredUEI="GLS/custom/bitsunder200"
            rearmedUEI="GLS/custom/bitsover500" filterOperator="or"
ds-name="ifHCInOctets"/>

Is this Correct? If i have defined a correct threshold i can setup my
notification.

Best regards

Heiko
