[opennic-discuss] .null status

Hey All,

I am official announcing that ns1.opennic.glue and .null are dead in
the water.

I am about to remove both from the root zone, but first I see it as a
good chance to offer them to someone else. If you would like to take
over the .null TLD let me know.

I have CCed Robin on this mail, as he might be interested in it.....

Re: [opennic-discuss] .null status

This is true.

I just haven't had the time or money to support it.

I received the following from Alex Hanselka. (Alex, the address you
sent the below message from is not subscribed to the list.)

[opennic-discuss] List Message Reply-To Header

I would like feedback on the following proposal.

I would like to disable the reply-to munging in the discuss list's
config. This would allow a recipient to send private replies to the
original sender by simply using the default "Reply" command of their
email software. It would require users to use "Reply to All" to respond
to the list (hence the name), which seems much more logical, anyway.

For what it is worth, I don't agree. That is actually illogical.
This is a Mailing List, and as such, 'Reply to:' the whole list
should be the default setting. If someone wants to direct a
mail to, or copy in, a specific individual, then they should,

1. Make the effort to enter said individual's email address in
    the appropriate response field.

2. Where appropriate, enter 'OFF-LIST' in the Subject field.

I just hit the quick-reply field and everything works.

Please don't break that.

Anything else is pure laziness, and will probably result in
large number of mispostings.  I'd have thought that the last
thing needed here, is less communication..

RE: [opennic-discuss] List Message Reply-To Header

I am rather mixed on this.  I quite like the idea of the reply-all but I also like the ease of use of the current method.  I know I already replied but… Anyway, I also think “why fix what isn’t broken”

I disagree with the original proposal. If you wanted to send something to just one user, you could just create a new message.

I would like feedback on the following proposal.

I would like to disable the reply-to munging in the discuss list's config. This would allow a recipient to send private replies to the original sender by simply using the default "Reply" command of their email software. It would require users to use "Reply to All" to respond to the list (hence the name), which seems much more logical, anyway.
