Compile trouble with 5.4pre3

I'm trying to compile the 5.4pre3 from source on Solaris 10, as I'm
interested in testing the new ifXTable implementation, but I can't get
it to configure happily. When I configure --with-mib-modules="if-mib", I
get:-

mib module error
configure: WARNING: mib module 'mibII/ifTable' requires module
'mibII/interfaces' but someone told me to compile without it

Configure does complete, and leaves me with:-

Excluding OIDs -- is this right?

Hi everyone,

I've been using the "rocommunity" directive, but had to use the whole
com2sec/group/access/view thing to exclude virtual interaces. Although
the following works, I'm not sure if the syntax is correct...

com2sec read default ********
group read v1 read
group read v2c read
group read usm read
access read "" any noauth exact read none none
view read included .1 80
# exclude virtual interfaces
view read excluded interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.3
view read excluded interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.4
view read excluded interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.5
view read excluded interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.6

Does this look good? If anyone can suggest an alternative to exclude
virtual interfaces on Solaris, I'd appreciate any tips.

Hi Mike,

After you run configure, open agent/mibgroup/mib_module_includes.h and 
move the line "#include mibgroup/kernel_sunos5.h" to the top. Then run make.

PS. You also need to include the line "#define 
NETSNMP_INCLUDE_IFTABLE_REWRITES" in include/net-snmp/system/solaris.h 
to get the new tables to work.

Try with a mask 0xff:0xa0 at the end to exclude the
interface.

ex:
view read excluded
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifIndex.6   0xff:0xa0

I am trying to set up an asynchronous send with a callback in my code but it

Problems with Monitor on Solaris 9

Well, I followed the advice of a list member but I still cannot run monitors against the Apache httpd process
and get a trap when the httpd process fails.

Attached are the snmpd.conf (stripped of comments) and the snmpd.log file.

Note: If I do not provide a valid user name with the noauth parameter, the monitor line fails requesting that
I provide a user name with the agentSecName parameter, and I have definitely added one.
