[4] Error: Unable to open a GM port !

hello;
  i am having problems with the mpich.
i was debugging a problem and then [4] Error: Unable to open a GM port !

i am running /gm-1.6.3_Linux

The output of my script is  the following, basically i run
mpirun.ch_gm -v -np $PROCESOS hello.mpichgm

  ./scriptHello
Program binary is: /home/camilo/calculo/mpi3d/hello.mpichgm
Machines file is /opt/mpich-1.2.4..8a/share/machines.ch_gm.LINUX
Shared memory for intra-nodes coms is enabled.
GM receive mode used: polling.
6 processes will be spawned:
         Process 0 (/home/camilo/calculo/mpi3d/hello.mpichgm ) on 
neperiano.usal.es
         Process 1 (/home/camilo/calculo/mpi3d/hello.mpichgm ) on 
neperiano.usal.es
         Process 2 (/home/camilo/calculo/mpi3d/hello.mpichgm ) on 
neperiano.usal.es
         Process 3 (/home/camilo/calculo/mpi3d/hello.mpichgm ) on 
neperiano.usal.es
         Process 4 (/home/camilo/calculo/mpi3d/hello.mpichgm ) on 
cat02.usal.es
         Process 5 (/home/camilo/calculo/mpi3d/hello.mpichgm ) on 
cat02.usal.es
Open a socket on neperiano.usal.es...
Got a first socket opened on port 8000.

With GM, port 0 is always busy, it's a fake port, port 1 is used by the
mapper and port 3 is used by the Ethernet emulation (myri0 device).

I don't see anything wrong in your gm_board_info output, but the problem
does not seem to be on neperiano.usal.es, it looks from the mpirun.ch_gm
verbose output that it's the MPI process 4, spawned on cat02.usal.es
that fails to open a GM port.

Can you look at the gm_board_info output on cat02.usal.es ? I guess
there are some ancient processes running there and still holding their
GM port. The MPI process 5 spawned on the same machine got the GM port
#7, which is the last one, that means all of the previous ones (2, 4, 5
and 6) were busy.

resolving hostnames in Win32 nodes

I have been having great difficulty in getting a Win32 (WinXP) node to interoperate with Linux nodes. I have
finally managed to get the Win32 node to run in passive mapping mode, with one of the Linux boxes running
map-once. The only remaining problem is that the hostname of the Win32 node is missing in the map, instead
of a hostname there is the GM boards hardware ID number. Can I place a file somewhere on the Win32 node
containing the node's name? Where?
