Suggestions please

Hi all,
I need a suggestion to a case:
We need to show Uptime on a NT server, in a simple manner. We tryed
using the following:
Target[QP-NBL01-On-Off]: <mailto:Target[QP-NBL01-On-Off]:
ifOperStatus.1&ifAdminStatus.1:public <at> 192.168.96.34>
ifOperStatus.1&ifAdminStatus.1:public <at> 192.168.96.34
Options[QP-NBL01-On-Off]: growright, gauge, withzeroes, noinfo,
unknaszero

But this mesurment will "fill in" the "not mesured" points when the
server comes up ageing after a down.
We have also triyed PING, but this gives to mutch variation in the
values.

What we need is a simple Yes / No if the server is up.

mrtg-2.9.7 released

Folks,

I have released mrtg 2.9.7 ... There are two reasons
for this release:

* The SNMP_Session.pm included with 2.9.6 had problems collecting
snmp information from various non cisco gear. The symptom was
that you got 'no response' when you realy should have gotten one.

* Jakob Ilves has contributed a substantial update to cfgmaker

* there were several reports of problems with information from
external gatherer scripts not being read probperly by mrtg ...

Go to http://ee-staff.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/pub

Cheers and happy new year
Tobi

SNMP error.

Hi,
I have a Lucent Clear Trac v352 router. I do not get a SNMP response
from the router when I try to build the cfg file. When I tried to check if
the router is set to forward SNMP packets all that I could find about snmp
was this:

SNMP trap: IP address #1...............0.0.0.0

Will this forward SNMP to all addresses If yes then why doesn't this work
in my case?

Thanks,
Chetan

In Out and Grand Totals

I am using MRTG and everything is just fine for now. I would however like to
figure out how to get in, out, and total on the same graph. It makes life
easy to see if the 128k lines are full, not having to see 50k and 70k out.
Thanks

Tim

Fixing Y-axis

I'm running MRTG 2.8.12 on a NT4.0 Box and I'm monitoring the bandwidth
usage of my Cisco 3640 routers connecting to an Frame Relay Cloud. The
bandwidth of my links are T1's with a CIR of 768K. My question is, when I
don't have traffic my Y-axis in my MRTG graphic adjusts to the maximum
bandwidth at that time (e.g. if the maximum traffic is 215 bits, the maximum
number in the graphic will be 215 bits). Is there any way set the vertical
axis to a presetted value?.

Another quick question, I will also like so see the CIR (Committed
Information Rate) of the links in the graphic, so I can tell how much is
bursting, that way I can tell if Link upgrades are required, Is it possible
to configure a horizontal line in the middle (or any place) of the graphic
where we can depict the boundary between the CIR an the BC in a Frame Relay
graphic? This horizontal line may have other usages as well.

I've been using MRTG for a short period of time and it's excellent. Two
thumbs up to Tobi!!

Thanks

Gabriel

In most, if not all, cases inbound and outbound traffic is independant.
That means that you should not add 50k and 70k.
