I believe this should be a workable (maybe even good) solution. The SIB 
client does not require a WAS runtime in place on the BEA side 
(technically, I'm not that good at reading licenses so it might say 
otherwise). Now, I haven't done this with Weblogic so I'm not sure if it 
allows custom JMS providers although I would be very surprised if it 
didn't.

After installing a client you will get a sibc.jms.jar which you will 
need to provide Weblogic with, after that I'm assuming you should be 
able to set up a JNDI definition of your ConnectionFactory and Destinations.

WMB Data Warehouse updates

iSeries V5R4 support?

Anyone know if iSeries V5R4 is supported by MQ V6.0?  I checked the Quick 
Beginnings manual and it's not there - V5R3 is the highest level listed. 
But, the PDF doc from IBM's website hasn't been updated since 2005, so I 
suspect doc updates have not been integrated into the manual and are only 
distributed with maintenance releases.

All,

Thanks for your input.  I have perused some of the documentation that
describes WMQ Server and 64 bit implementations, but my question was really
related to Windows and 64 bit client implementations.  After reading the
Quick beginnings manual and perusing the read me from the 6.0.2.1 Windows
client support pac, it seems that there are no options for installing the
MQ client for Windows on a 64 bit implementation of any Windows OS variant.

If anyone knows any different, please respond back.  Otherwise, thanks for
your comments.

Limited Windows 64-bit support

Release 6.0.2.1 includes support for the V6.0 32-bit WebSphere MQ
product
and 32-bit applications running on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition,
Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition and Windows Server 2003
Enterprise
x64 Edition. For more information on this support please see the updated
version of the Windows Quick Beginings book GC34-6476-01 or later which

Before installing on a 64-bit operating system please review the
installation section 2.3 below.

Please note that, after installing release 6.0.2.1 or later, the
WebSphere MQ installation will include a \bin64 directory on all Windows

operating systems.

.NET applications on Windows 64-bit operating systems

The 32-bit version of the .NET framework versions 1.1 and 2.0 are both
supported for use with Windows 64-bit operating systems. One of
these versions must be installed if you wish to write .NET applications.

By default, applications built using .NET Framework 2.0 can run as
either
32-bit or 64-bit depending on your operating system. However, because
WebSphere MQ supports 32-bit applications only, if you are using a
64-bit
operating system, applications must be built with the platform
explicitly
set to x86, so that they will run as 32-bit applications on 64-bit
Windows.

Hi,

WMQ for Windows in 64-bit format is not currently supported.  Also, WMQ
v6 is not support currently on any release of MS Vista.

Although, if look at the later WMQ v6 Fix Packs on Windows, there is a
new directory called bin64 with items in it.  So, I would think the
official release of WMQ 64-bit for Windows will be soon.
