[bug #6564] src/core/tcp.c:139: warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #6564 (project lwip):

I fixed this by altering the code so the -fno-strictaliasing option doesn't
need to be used. See attached patch.

[bug #16830] err_tcp() posts to connection mailbox when no pend on the mailbox is active

URL:
  <http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=16830>

Summary: err_tcp() posts to connection mailbox when no pend
on the mailbox is active
                 Project: lwIP - A Lightweight TCP/IP stack
            Submitted by: None
Submitted on: Monday 06/12/2006 at 12:33 UTC
                Category: TCP
                Severity: 3 - Normal
              Item Group: Faulty Behaviour
                  Status: None
                 Privacy: Public
             Assigned to: None
             Open/Closed: Open

Details:

When a TCP error occurs and err_tcp() is called, the function posts a null
message to the connection's mailbox. Since the mailbox is used for
synchronization of connection messages to the TCP thread, posting to it is
only valid when a connection function is pending on the result. It appears
that this only occurs when the connection is attempting to connect via a call
to netconn_connect(). In all other instances, the connection's mailbox will
receive a message from the TCP thread.

Posting an extra message in err_tcp() causes the next netconn_xxx() API call

Rejected patch. Includes are required, memcpy and errno are used.

[bug #2717] mem_realloc() does not check for alignment of newsize

Follow-up Comment #3, bug #2717 (project lwip):

Returning actual allocation size isn't of much use, at least I think so. As a
caller you want at least n bytes and if it's a little more because of
alignment than that's fine with me...

Can I close this?

[bug #1894] tcp_write and tcp_output usage is confusing

Update of bug #1894 (project lwip):

             Open/Closed:                    Open => Closed

    _______________________________________________________

Follow-up Comment #4:

tcp_write() is documented in both source and in rawapi.txt and tcp_output()
maybe needs a little more doxygen. This applies to all lwip files, so I'll
close it.
