I think the right thing to do is something inbetween. If the connection
times out while the user is still filling the form, psi should add a small
red text to the form but keep going. If the user submits psi will reconnect
and send the data to the server. Yes, this is a bit "racy" but in the
normal case it works...
I bet server admins are not changing their setting all the time to annoy
users ;)
But it's not really any more racy than any normal http form processing.

psi crashes after destroying muc

Hello,

with the current svn build (revision 871) psi crashes after destroying a
MUC with "Destroy Room". The message "The room has been destroyed" is
shown, but after this psi crashes.

I've discovered this behavior on conference.jabber.ccc.de.

cheers

I saw this too with some earlier builds when destroying rooms on
conference.jabber.org, but I have not tested it recently.

Re: location of conf files redux

There's already a flyspray task for this, and a reason why we don't
have this yet: we need to migrate the old configuration to the new
dir, which is the hard part. There are 2 ways to do this:
- On OS X: move the old dir to the new dir (if the new dir doesn't
exist), and link the old dir to the new dir.
- On Windows: do a recursive copy of the old dir if the new dir
doesn't exist yet, and leave behind a
"DO_NOT_EDIT_THIS_DIR_AS_IT_HAS_BEEN_MIGRATED_ELSEWHERE" file (it
sounds evil to delete the dir, and we need to make sure that the user
doesn't accidentally edit his own dir)

I'm fine with using the latter solution on mac os x as well, although
it is slightly less clean.

Now all we need is someone to implement this properly.

cheers,
Remko

PS: It's "Application Support". Mac OS X can handle spaces in
filenames just fine ;-)

And we can still use PSIDATA env var for stuff because that would point to whatever the current case is for that platform and that user.

Growl in nightlies

Hi all,

I've just downloaded Psi-0.12-devel_20071215.dmg.  Apparently my Growl notifications have gone.  I've removed Psi from the apps in Growl, and after relaunching Psi and having someone come online, it's not added.  When I return to 0.11 final, it works perfectly.

Not really a big thing, but I thought I'd just let you guys know.

System:
Mac OS X 10.5.1
Growl 1.1.2
Psi nightly Dec 15
