looks like we now officially have a devroom.

Woot, time to get busy.

If you want to give a talk, post to this list. Ralph Meijer and I will
sort out further coordination.

I'm volunteering to give 2 talks, but am willing to drop one if there
are too many applicants:
- "The Extraordinary, Magical Powers and Possibilities of XMPP", a 1
hour introduction to XMPP. Mostly a copy of last year's XMPP 101.
- "Swift XMPP-Tailored Testing: Beauty in XMPP software tests". A
presentation around the XMPP article in "Beautiful Testing"

cheers,
Remko

I'd like to give a (fairly technical) talk on compression of XMPP.

Haven't a name for it yet. But I do have lots of (fairly early stage)
figures, which I've been throwing about, and which really need an
airing, so this'll give me an excuse to do a bit more work on them.

I've about an hour's worth of material, if I include background info,
etc, but it could be squeezed into less if we're really pushed for
time.

Please, please, don't give me the last slot again... :-)

Dave.

I'd like to give a talk on Digital Signatures in XMPP. I'm currently working on a proposal to address a subset
of the requirements discussed in XEP 274.

I can talk too, but you'll have to ask me the talk title closer to the
end of the month... I think I'll know more specifically what about by
then :)

Converting one-on-one chat into a multi-user conference

Hi,

This is a general question and opinion. As of what I know, most (if
not all) XMPP clients who supports MUC does not support what section
7.6 (Converting a One-to-One Chat Into a Multi-User Conference).

XMPP is often used within companies, and often heard opinion is that
many prefer closed system such as MSN or Skype due to the fact that
they implement the behavior of section 7.6 of the MUC XEP, considering
the common scenario when a discussion is initiated between two
parties, but needs a temporary way to let it involve more people.
There is the protocol specification, but I have trouble finding
support for it in clients.

What clients are there that supports this part of MUC, and are
developers of other clients planning to add this feature?

Jonas

I believe that Gajim already supports it, and Swift intends to.
