Problem displaying the in-test values of IPERF under linux

Hi,

I am experiencing  problem with Iperf Ver. 2.0.4.+svnr43 and Linux. I have tried with both SUSE and Ubuntu 9.04, but both had the same problem. The problem is with the server - it does not display the measured values but at the end of the test returns the average values.
So, this is the result on the server:

iperf -s -P 0 -i 1 -p 5001 -w 64K -N -f m

The client runs normally and returns all the it-test values. When I run the same machine as client I get this:

I don't experience this problem with Windows.
I would be very thankful to receive some help on this subject.

IPerf 2.0.4 Windows binaries question

Today I have – sort of accidentally – managed to compile IPerf 2.0.4 and have it run on Windows (with cygwin1.dll installed in the system32 dir). I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this question – but is there an interest here in using this binary or having it available for download via Sourceforge? I do not know the procedure to try to do this (if it might be desirable) – but thought that having a .zip package with iperf204.exe and cygwin1.dll available might be a good idea. Is there somewhere else that this binary might be posted for testing?

I am sure this has probably been discussed before, but I haven’t found mention of it. Any comments?

Thanks,

Jose

Amir,

Turns out the new version has some problems. There are patches for 2.0.4 in Sourceforge which apparently haven’t made their way into the svn’s “trunk”. I am applying those patches (some don’t install) and will hopefully have a binary that works correctly (or almost) soon. I don’t know where to put it though – and if it might be freely distributed or not, along with cygwin1.dll. Does anyone here know?

Thanks,

José

Modification failure

Hey,
to conveniently analyse the data gathered by Iperf I tried to modify
the "ReportDefault.c" of the Iperf 2.0.4 version by including the
self-written function "int WlanLogger(unsigned int)" which logs the rate with
which the data was send. To do so I included the respective Wlan_Logger.cpp
file which contains the logger-tool and the Wlan_Logger.h with the
declaration of the function as well as the inclusion of other header-files.

When making the project with the modified makefile, the compiler generates all
object files without any complaint (including the Wlan_Logger.o), but the
linker prints that there's an "undefined reference to WlanLogger" in
the "ReportDefault.c" .

Now I tried several things and came over the fact, that even when defining the
function in the main.cpp the same error occurs. Only by defining the function
either in the ReportDefault.c itself or in the Wlan_Logger.h which is
included by the ReportDefault.c the Linker will accept the reference to the
function.

Unfortunately none of the options described is a possible solution to my
problem as my source includes c++ - elements which can't be run by the
ReportDefault.c file.

Googeling only brought me to the idea, that the printed error requests a
library to be added, but as the object file is already properly generated
before, this - in my eyes - can't be the problem.

I'd be more than happy if any of you can help me with this matter as I already
spent several hours on how to get rid of this darn error.

Thanks a lot,

S.Clauss
