Adium 1.5.1b1 released

Happy Sunday!

Adium 1.5.1b1 is now live on both beta.adium.im and via Sparkle.

It is signed with our authorized Apple Developer ID certificate and so should pass GateKeeper's scrutiny.  Libpurple 2.10.4 is also included.

I'd like to release this after a brief beta period of a week or so, so please report any problems, especially as relate to code signing or connectivity, you run into.

Best,
Evan

Time for plugin approval

Hi all,

I would like to ask if my pending plugin is OK or how long does it take to approve it?

Thanks,
Honza

Adium 1.5.1

libpurple has been updated to 2.10.4 with 2 security fixes, and I'd also like to have us distributing a
Developer ID signed binary.

We may need to include some explicit parameters (the designated requirement) in the codesign line used in
the release script, but I'm not positive with our current OS X targeting; we're ok on 10.7 without but
10.6.8 may need
it to behave properly.

Any objections to a beta in the next couple days?

Is there something up with pgsql on eider?

Trac is spitting out a traceback saying it can't contact it.

Adium / Mac Developer ID and Gatekeeper

Ernie Prabhakar at Apple was able to get the bundle ID / Developer ID issues sorted out for us.  I've requested and installed the certificate on Muscovy. Didn't touch the build system; Adrian, do you want to make the switch to building releases with it after you update Xcode and such on the machine?

We should plan to release Adium 1.5.1 signed with our shiny new certificate within the next two to three weeks.  It is hypothetically possible that OS X 10.7.4 could, late this month, enable optional Gatekeeper functionality, and it would be good to be ready.

Updating Muscovy to 10.7

I'm running an unattended installation to update muscovy to 10.7.  The machine will be down for an hour or so while that does its thing.

Re: [Adium-devl] Monetizing Adium

Maybe you could look at digsby's monetization methods (current, rather than what they did to build up to that point). Giving users the option of clearing ads or keeping them to support you would be harmless, wouldn't it?

Dude, where's my plugin?

Howdy!

I recently updated (or so I thought) the sort-by-log-size plugin
(http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=xtras&xtra_id=6059) to work
with Adium 1.5. It appears that the plugin has been removed from the
search listings, and I can only download the previous version from the
plugin page. Is this expected behavior (awaiting moderator approval?),
a bug, or a goof on my end?

Thanks!

Update: Signing Adium for Gatekeeper

Folks,

Just a status update.

We now have an approved and identity-verified Apple Developer account, associated with Instant Messaging Freedom, Inc., so we will be able to sign Adium with an Apple-provided Mac Developer ID.

However, the com.adiumX.adiumX bundle identifier is marked as "already registered" so we can't get the certificate yet. I believe I registered it into some other Apple registry a long time ago, but I'm not 100% certain of that… in any case, I can't figure out where, or how to free it. I've emailed Apple developer support for help.

Adium 1.5.1

Hi,

Now that 1.5 is out, I think a branch for 1.5.1 would be in order. 1.6 and further releases need scoping but I
reckon we can all agree that 1.5.1 should mostly cover regressions in 1.5. Objections?

Cheers,
Robbie
