OK, this crash was caused by

Apr 30 17:46:20 reader kernel: [1036092.405715] VFS: file-max limit
50017 reached

So it is not an original INN problem.

OK, thanks for the report.
I dug into last commits I made on C source yesterday and couldn't find
something which could have triggered that.

I hope you will manage to fix your file system issue.

Outgoing feed filter (fwd)

Good day, All!

I have the same problem..
Maybe here someone say something?

Subject: Outgoing feed filter

Hello, I been working on trying to filter misplaced binaries from my
outgoing feed, so I set up a perl filter, and set dontrejectfiltered to true
in inn.conf, and added the Af flag to a peer in the newsfeeds file. While
doing some testing, nothing appears to ever get filtered, if I post a binary
it will still get passed to the peer with the Af flag set. To verify the
filter does work, I set dontrejectfiltered back to false, and the binary was
properly rejected for being a binary in a non-binary group, but I do not
want to reject this on incoming, just outgoing. Did I miss some other config
option I need to set?

thanks,

geoff

INN

Good morning all,

Can anyone tell me if 2.4.6 is out stable? Or if there is a RPM
available?

Kind regards

James

INN 2.4.6 is the last stable release.
There are RPM available according to:
    http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=inn

Note that INN 2.5.0 will be released soon (end of May/June).

Re: Outgoing feed filter (fwd)

Hi Petr,

Yep, I saw it but did not manage to have a look at it earlier.
I was not at home during the whole week-end but with friends
who live in the countryside (no Internet!).

Besides, it was not that easy to find out where the problem was.

My answer (posted to news.software.nntp) below:

No, you did not miss anything.
It is a genuine bug. Thanks for having spotted it!

The problem is that at some point during the function which determines what
sites will receive the articles, funnels are removed in favour of what they
point at (like innfeed!). Therefore, if "news.server.org" has the Af flag,
this flag is not transmitted to "innfeed!" (because it handles more than one

Is it still happening daily?

Did you try to upgrade to libdb 4.7?

Re: OVSTATICSEARCH bug

Hi Jeffrey,

Would you like to commit this change so that it is available for INN 2.5.0?
It looks as though it fixed an annoying bug.

Sorry for not having enough knowledge on tradindexed in order to be of help.

Incidentally, if you have other pending patches for INN 2.5.0, feel free
to commit them.

You are right.. My old INN-2.4.3 already uses "Server throttled", no
"throttling"
