NX Tools, Useable?

I am currently using freenx on Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibson.

I am curious as to whether or not there is a way to utilize several of
the nx tools available for free from nomachine.com. Such as, NX Server
Manager, Web Companion, or NX Builder?

Thanks,

(Please reply to all, I am not subscribed to this list. Thanks again.)

Re: reached maximum number

Are you using the commercial server from Nomachine? If you are then you might get this kind of error if two users have already tried to connect to the server. I think the Nomachine server just allows two users accounts to connect. Let us know if you are trying something else.

Thanks

Re: reached maximum number

Well , i had to delete one of the users from users.db.
Now it works.

Is there a free version which allows more than 2 users ?

AFAIK, FreeNX provides an unlimited number of simultaneous connections.

FreeNX 0.7.1 sources and patches for Debian based distributions

I have good news for all Debian based distributions wanting current FreeNX
0.7.1 packages with a nx-3.0 backend. I now have source packages on my site
here:
https://www.no-ip.com/hostactive.php?host=datakey&domain=servehttp.com
I have included some patches from trunk to fix the missing nxdialog when
trying to suspend, etc.

If you feel so inclined, please compile the packages and offer up your
distribution's binaries so that others may benefit. If there are any missing
dependencies, please let me know on the forum.

Included is an updated patch to the one I offered earlier which uses current
updates from FreeNX trunk (Thank you Fabian for that suggestion).

NX 3.0 backend fails to run VNC proxy on Debian

Fabian, I am having troubles getting FreeNX to play nicely with an nx-3.0
backend on the side of VNC proxy. It seems the nxpasswd which was in
nx-2.1.0 was removed from nx-3.0.0 and vncpasswd in Debian doesn't allow
piping the password by stdin like nxpasswd does. However, I tried TightVNC
sources and they allow piping with the -f switch as is posted on their online
man pages.

Do you already have a patch for trunk related to this or should I make one?

What would you suggest as the best solution in order to maintain compliance?

I do not want to get shunned because I'm recreating the wheel here. I was
thinking I could make a source for our own nxpasswd and offer it for you to
add to trunk, but I don't like the idea of duplicating code even though it
isn't in Debian already, and I don't want to pull from outdated nx 2.1.0
sources. This puts me between a rock and a hard place (as the saying goes
here).

Let me know what you think is best.

Oops, sorry for my earlier posting, I failed to specify the correct link to
the sources:

I guess the copy didn't work right.
