Re: Red Color exchanged with blue in some gtk2 apps

I found this TRS which is related to my problem, but
fixed only in nxdesktop.

http://www.nomachine.com/tr/view.php?id=TRSL041825

Gian, is similar thing done in nxclient as well? if
so, why is linux client not doing the same thing as
windows client?

Is there a way to file bugs against NX OSS components and clients.

Now that the no-machine developer mailing lists are
dead, is there still a way to file bugs against OSS
components/clients?

I wanted to request a solaris x86 client but I don't
know how to.

Thanks,
Sunil

due to the closing of the public mailinglists, you will be stuck with either
support <at> nomachine.com or (probably the better choice for bugs)
developers <at> nomachine.com. They are kind and don't bite :)
If appropriate, a FR or TR will be filled in the knowledge base by "them".

Please consider http://www.nomachine.com/documentation/supp-request.php when
reporting bugs.

You can file a ticket in the bug database or send Gian an email.

Well, I have a sparc package for freenx working and all setup (as simple
as pkgadd). I need a Solaris x86 machine to work on getting nxserver
supported. I also would like to get this working (or tested) on Solaris
7/8/9. I'll send an email later on this week with details.

So far, I have these dependancies (and their core dependancies) for
nxserver package on Solaris.

- SUNWgccruntime
- CSWtextutils
- CSWexpect
- CSWnetcat

SUNWgccruntime is supplied by Sun (in at least Solaris 10). I cannot
test Solaris 8/9 right now, but initially Solaris 10 should be supported.

As for your initial question of nxclient on Solaris...I hope we can get
nxclient for Solaris x86. Till then, you can either setup lxrun on x86
(with RH 6.0) or wait till LAE (2006 perhaps).

NXclient question

Hello,

Is it possible to configure NXclient so, that it asks for a username?

I would like a blank username, and the cursor on the username (it's for
thin clients).

With regards,
Paul van der VLis.

BTW: is it OK to ask questions about the commercial NXclient here?

if they don't imply implementation issues, I think we help were we can, but
with this request you better ask nomachine. Or you can try to use "our"
nxrun-libraries to put together your own client.

It is OK to ask, but don't expect an answer under all conditions.
After all, most of us are fellow users of the same NX Client....

BTW, "commercial" NX Client sounds a bit odd; after all, NoMachine
do not ask for money for the client, and their license even grants
that it is "freely redistributable in binary form". I regard it as
a great gift to have received and being allowed to use.

"Commercial" is when you pay them (NoMachine), either for a support
contract, or for licenses of the (commercial) server.

Cheers,
Kurt

You do have the code for the relevant components though.

nxssh and libnxcomp.so.1.5.0 (before it was nxproxy)

So you can make changes to the code, replace the libnxcomp.so.1.5.0 on the
client and try again ... Until you find the bug ...

I have no support-contract or something like that...

I would prefer a real open source client, but I am not a real good
programmer. For that reason I want to use my time to switch some
organisations from Windows to Linux with use of FreeNX, and not to
program a client.

Is there a client implementation with "your" nxrun-libraries?

I would like to use ThinStation. I've heard Trevor Batley (from
ThinStation) wants to look at nxclient 1.5 and Moznx. There is allready
a nxclient 1.4 implementation.

With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.
