SME6.0 - CGI - QMAIL Port Change

Hi,
I'm developing a Extension for QMAIL-SMTP Port Change in SME6.0

When I run the following Script - started within the SME Webmanager - I
get a permission error in the line with the processTemplate statement.

But the scripts runs well even I loggen on as root in a console!

Any suggestions?

#!/usr/bin/perl -w

package esmith;

use strict;
use Errno;
use esmith::config;
use esmith::util;
use esmith::db;

my %conf;
tie %conf, 'esmith::config';

esmith::util::processTemplate (\%conf,
"/var/service/smtpfront-qmail/runenv");
system("/sbin/service smtpfront-qmail restart") == 0
  or die ("Error occured while reconfiguring QMail.\n");

exit (0);

So long and thanks..........

Having been away for a few weeks and coming back to nearly 1000 messages on
the list, and a few surprises :-) I'm a bit late joining in the thanks to
Charlie, Dan, Rich, Mike et al (what DID happen to Kirrily??) for all their
hard work and support over the years.

As a "paying" customer I've tended to be very quiet on the list, routing my
main queries via our support company to Mitel, but I couldn't let this pass
without recording my sincere thanks to all at e-smith who came up with the
concept and Mitel who've run with it for the last two years or so. The
product is fantastic, reasonably priced for an SME (we've got 3 licenced
servers) with an excellent support structure.

I realise that it now won't be on the development path for Mitel, but look
forward to seeing what the community can do. I'm a great believer in GPL,
but as an SME with only 4 IT staff to look after around 500 users over 16
sites I need the backup of a commercial enterprise when I get a problem so
I'll be sticking with the commercial version for a bit yet (at least on our
production servers, test servers are a different matter!). One thing I would
like to ask the new team is please don't drop the netatalk Mac support, it's
a blessing for companies like ours with a small number of PC's and a large
number of Macs to have a central repository for both Mac and PC data and to
have a system that can be administered from a Mac web browser.

So long Mitel, hello e-smith (I hope so, but let's not get hung up about a
name!).

Happy Hogmanay to you all and a good and prosperous New Year to both the
Mitel team and the contribs.org team and all on the list. Who knows, maybe
I'll not be so quiet in the future!

install problem (kickstart config missing)

From what I remember I subscribed to this list mainly because I didn't see
a list to ask a question about installation problems. I have posted to
the forums at contribs.org without any response, so I was hoping that I
could get an idea somewhere else.

I am trying to install sme server 6 download edition and it doesn;t want
to install. It complains that the kickstart config is missing. Does
anyone know why it is failing?

thanks.

RE: New list subscription remeinder

I think it would be nice to see a config message come out of the new list so
we can adjust our filters etc...

Tape backup issue with DDS-4 unit, has anyone got ideas?

HI

I have just done an install of an Mitel Networks server 6.0beta3 box with an
Adaptec 29160/P SCSI Controller card and a Segate STD2401LW DDS-4 20/40Gb Tape
Backup Unit

I have also install Darrell May's Advanced backup contrib and scheduled a
backup job to run at 1am however at 1 am i get an email with the following
error message.

Can't call method "set_prop" on an undefined value at /sbin/e-smith/do_backup
line 44

what i can understand is i am use to getting error messages similar to
this "Backup aborted: No tape loaded"

any ideas?

Merry Christmas :)

Regards
