Problems with dc++ 0.674

Valnut 0.3.7
Debian hetch

I can dl files from all type of clients but peoples working with DC++
0.674 in active mode can't ul files on my dc: the ul restart à 0% after
all disconnexion (IP change).
For some of them it works in passiv mode (but not all of them and I dont
undestand why)

It seems that tis is due to à change in dc++ protocol to protect users
agains malicious attacks.

Is a new release of valknut in study to solve tis problem?

Best regards

active not working and passive won't complete downloads

i'm running valknut 0.3.7 on fedora core 4 and in active mode i have
set up port forwarding correctly and i get no search results. when i
switch to passive i get search results, but when i try downloading
something it just sits in the wait tab with the status:
*Idle/2

and never ever goes to the transfer tab. downloading never gets
completed or even started. what does that * mean (just curious)? what
could be wrong?

i start the program from the command line so i can see the program's
output and this is what i got (maybe it will help):

[root <at> localhost nickleus]# valknut

To get search results in Active mode, you need to have the appropriate
UDP port forwarded, and be accepting incoming UDP packets from anywhere
to that port. Have a good close look at your firewall setup, Active
mode is worth pursuing.

Active mode also requires a forwarded/open TCP port, so others can
connect to you to initiate transfers. In passive mode you rely on
others having correctly configured ports, and the RevConnectToMe process
is more complicated, meaning greater scope for thwarted connections.
Without a connection downloads will never start, and nothing will show
in the log tab.

I think the * indicates a multi-download, as opposed to a single-source
download.

Hi Nick,

You're not giving us much to go on here. What ports have you opened,
are they the same ones listed under Options->Connection in Valknut (9176
by default, different to what DC++ uses). Do you have a router/modem
doing NAT, is your linux firewall doing NAT, do you use a frontend to
configure your linux firewall? Can you confirm that UDP packets are
actually making it to your computer, for example by using a packet
sniffer like tcpdump or ethereal?
