Execute external script when centerim receives action

Hi all!
I want to write some scripts for my window manager, so that I am notified of a new IM in the taskbar. This works
fine through the sounds or external file. So when a new message arrives the text "New message" starts
blinking on the bottom of my screen. Now I want to stop this, when I have switched back to centerim to view the
message. This must also be done via an external script, which could be executed when: I focus the centerim
window or I read an arriving message or centerim receives any input or action from me.
Is this currently possible through some event trigger etc? If not, will it be in the future versions?
Thanks in advance,
Bastian Schnitzler

gentoo - ebuild

hi,
how do the "packages" from centerim.org appear in the gentoo-portage?
The current version is "4.22.1_p20070625", which is quite old, because
there is a 20071003-version out.

Look at [1]. :)
I think we have to wait some days (maybe week) to get 20071003 in portage.

I added the new ebuild for me to /usr/portage/local/net-im/centerim and
emerged it without problems.

Well if you try to delete the notification on focus of the cim-window it
may be possible depending on the terminal you use. Eventually your
window-manager has a possibility to execute scripts on focussing special
windows.

CenterIM is not able to do this at the moment. But as CIM5 will be a
complete rewrite, we could define the external-mechanism a little bit
more comfortable. Anyone willing to write a clean specification?

MSN login problem

Hi everyone,

I have been away for about 5 days and when I came back I noticed that I
got logged out from MSN. I tried to reconnect, but I couldn't. All I got
was "10:35:35 [msn] connecting to the server" and eventually "10:39:42
[msn] disconnected".

I can connect using the Windows Live Messenger. When I started it, I got
a message about an updated version so I was wondering if maybe M$
changed something again.

I tried compiling ther latest snapshot (from the mob branch), so see if
it would fix it, but I get the same problem.

Just wondering if anyone else got a similar problem?

TIA

Horst.

Run centerim with the --debug flag and send us the ~/.centerim/debug
file after you tried to connect to msn. Remember to look for and
delete any personal information (like your password).

Re: MSN login problem

Hi,
I got two debug logs from two different people, so there must be
something wrong somewhere! Tonight I should have some time to look at
this...
A question for the people having this issue: how many contacts do you
have in your list?

Thank you Stéphane. Appreciate you having a look at it.

I have 10 groups and about 80 users.

Cheers

Portage overlay of the Mob-branch

Hey all,
I just set up a gentoo portage overlay. It contains the latest
tarballs of the mob-branch, ready to build. The easiest way to include
it is using layman. All you need to do is add [1] to your
/etc/layman/layman.cfg under overlays. An example would look like
that:
overlays : http://transacid.de/overlay.xml
                 http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/layman-global.txt
after that do a "layman -L" and a "layman -a centerim" and you should
be done. Enjoy the testing of the fresh tarballs and as usual report
bugs not to me but to the devel mailing list or join us in the irc
channel.

Thanks for you attention
