msn seg fault: patch no longer works

The fix explained here:

No longer works, as you can see:
patching file Makefile.in
Hunk #1 FAILED at 1.
Hunk #2 FAILED at 13.
Hunk #3 FAILED at 278.
Hunk #4 FAILED at 299.
Hunk #5 FAILED at 326.
Hunk #6 FAILED at 352.
6 out of 6 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file Makefile.in.rej

About 5 minutes later, I restarted the procedure with the same failures:
patching file Makefile.in
Hunk #1 FAILED at 1.
Hunk #2 FAILED at 13.
Hunk #3 succeeded at 266 (offset -12 lines).
Hunk #5 succeeded at 314 (offset -12 lines).
2 out of 6 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file Makefile.in.rej

This was done at approx. Tue Dec 5 2006 14:10.

Is it possible that someone please create a "stable" release with the msn 
patches applied?

I was following incorrect instructions and using obsolete patches. The 
correct ones are here:

strpbrk() is a systemfunktion, see man strpbrk:

       strpbrk - search a string for any of a set of characters

I found your Mail in the centericq mailinglist archive. How actual is this utf-8
stuff? I'm very interrested in centericq with real utf-8 support.

Sadly I've had no more time to work on this and right now I have no connection
at home, so I can't go on with it for a little while. The big problem with this issue
is that a major rewrite of the ktools library, which is wearing old. If you know some
C/C++ and have some time to spend on this, I could give you some advice about
all this stuff.

Yes, please give me this advice. I've free time from Februar till March.
There should be enough time to have a look at this.
