MSN and Yahoo bugs in 4.20.0-2

Version: 4.20.0-2 (Debian)

I'm experiencing two very annoying bugs. In MSN, contacts are not
showing up as online when they are, or showing up as online when I'm
disconnected. Also, messages aren't always being passed--no doubt due to
the the faulty status of the contacts. Is there a current workaround?

In Yahoo, deleting a contact doesn't appear to delete it on the server
side. Deleted contacts magically (and annoyingly) reappear several
seconds after being deleted. How can I force a server-side sync when
deleting a contact?

Is this happening with all MSN contacts you have, or just the ones you
created with centericq?

I had the same problem as you using contacts added with centericq.
One workaround I found was to replace some values in the contact's info
file. Try the following:

sed -i.bak '47s/.*/1/' -e '$s/.*/1/' ~/.centericq/myourcontact/info

where myourcontact is the directory of your msn contact

This also happens with my MSN contacts... I usually delete them using MSN
web messenger. Dunno if there's a yahoo web messenger yet...

All were added with centericq. The weird thing is that, on other
accounts on the system, *some* of the contacts work, so it's definitely
something in the internal state of the contacts.

What exactly are we doing here? It looks like we're just putting line 47
on the last line of the file. Is that the idea?

Jabber: GnuPG decryption fails when receiving event messages from PSI client

Dear list members,

GnuPG encryption with jabber does not work properly between
my CenterICQ and the PSI client http://psi.affinix.com/
When receiving a message from PSI, my centerICQ disables the
PGP encryption and just says: "[This message is encrypted.]"

When my friend (the sender) uses kopete instead of PSI, it works correctly.
Then the encrypted messages look like this (in XML):

--- snip ---

<message from="sender@.../Kopete" type="chat"
to="recipient@.../centericq" >

I like the idea. in fact I like the idea so much that I wrote a patch
to implement it.

Go to http://www.sbox.tugraz.at/home/d/davrieb/centericq/ for
detailed information and to get the patch.

David

Yes! Thanks, David, for creating this wonderful patch!
It works perfectly well.

Thanks. I'm happy that someone likes this thing.

For the Debian users out there (including myself) I now added a
version of the patch, which applies to the current package in Debian
unstable. It is also available at
http://www.sbox.tugraz.at/home/d/davrieb/centericq/.

flashing

Hi,

Normaly i use windows XP on my desktop and then connect to my shell with putty.
When a message is sent to me, i can`t see an update or something. In my memory
the minimized program started flashing when a new event was received. I found
that pretty useful because u don`t have to check activaly if you received an
message.

- Is this a setting i have overlooked?
- Is it taken out of the program?

grtz,

dunki
