MSN oddity in 4.20.0

I just saw something really odd in 4.20.0.

I have an MSN contact that suddenly went offline. I happen to have set up
their system for their DSL connectivity and still maintain their machine
and router via VNC, so I checked to see what was wrong on their end as they
should pretty much never go offline. The answer was...nothing. They were
still logged in according to their client.

Via VNC, I signed them out and back on, and still no status changes were
shown in cicq even after a few minutes' wait.

I disconnected -just- MSN in cicq, reconnected, and they were magically
back online again.

Very, very odd. First time I've seen it happen, but people might want to
be aware it -can- happen.

Now that you mention it, the other day when I had to use cicq for MSN (I
usually use amsn, sorry, but I like the pretty pictures :P ) people
stayed online even after I disconnected (went offline only in MSN) - the
status-change was shown in the status-indicator, and I was able to logon
from another client... - they only went offline when I restarted cicq...

IRC convert

Hello.

I try to add full support koi8-r <-> cp1251 convert.
All messages was normal convert (add converting to hooks), but to convert nick need convert
not hooks, need convert
centericq-4.20.0/firetalk-0.1/irc.c: "irc_get_nick" and
"irc_set_nickname"
because IRC use irc_compare_nicks in firetalk-0.1/irc.c
when do you think, add iconv to irc.c or have another (most good) idea?
In irc.c i can get "conf.getconvertto" and "conf.getconvertfrom" =(

Thanks to answers and sorry for my english

jabber change?

Did Jabber just change authentication protocols?

+ 21:04 [jab] connecting to the server
+ 21:04 [jab] error 401
+ 21:04 [jab] disconnected

>From an HTTP status code listing:

RC_UNAUTHORIZED (401)

And I haven't changed my account information. This is from jabber.com:5222
for those that might ask.

I got an error 500 at first, but later is was 401. And now I'm logged in
again.

As Jabber is a standards based protocol, they probably didn't change
anything. The organization/company providing jabber services at jabber.org
might have though, but I would guess they just experience temporary
problems.

MSN new contacts

Hi,

I hve a problem with MSN:

All existing contacts are OK (gotten from the server).
However, when I add new contacts, they never appear online.
I can get the messages from the person, but never send.
Eventually I can see the contact after a long time

jabber oddness continues...sparc?

Okay, it's been several days yet and Jabber doesn't connect. More
accurately, 4.12.0 connects but disconnects. 4.20.0 tells me it's 401 yet
and then disconnects. This is the jabber.com:5222 server that I've always
had in there.

Someone said they were hitting 500, then a 4xx, then it started working for
them again. Nada so far here.

I'm starting to wonder if something didn't change with Sparc. Why would
this not surprise me? Still, it doesn't make sense--it shouldn't even
figure out 401 if it was what it used to be--endianness.

I'm curious if anyone has another Jabber server address to try. I want to
see what's up with this, and if it's generalised or specific.

When asked his whereabouts on Mon, Mar 07, 2005 at 01:32:49PM +0100,
Frank Altpeter took the fifth, drank it, and then slurred:

> related but jabber.com related.

Gotcha. Yeah, looks like it's something weird with jabber.com. However, I
just tried jabber.anywise.com. Registered okay, but when I
connect...heheh...this is really cute:

+ 07:43 [jab] logged in
+ 07:43 [jab] error 404: Not Found
+ 07:43 [jab] error 502: Server Connect Failed

And if you send messages, you keep getting 404's every time you send.

"Oops." :)

Using 4.20.0 here and connecting to a local jaber server - no problems
(apart from seeing my own msg twice...)
