Strangely enough I got logged in today without doing anything after some
days without connection to MSN.

newbie

hello,
i just installed centericq on debian running it in text mode,
have some problems with registering jabber accout.
in case of ICQ it was done from their website, but can't find any for jabber,
i try it from c-icq, but accout manager is telling me :
You must be logged to the Jabber network to update your details.

thanks for any ideas

PuTTY.

"Enter key sends message" vs. newline; paste detection

Hello,

How do I make a new line when I've activated "Enter key sends message"?

Most of the time I write single-line messages, but sometimes I need a
multi-line one.

In Trillian I could use STRG+Enter for newline and Enter for send. Is
something like that in centericq? Or a shortcut for temporary disabling
the "Enter key sends message" feature?

Also some kind of paste detection like in irssi would be nice. When I
try to paste serveral lines at once into irssi it responds with:
"Irssi: Pasting [Nr] lines to [User]. Press Ctrl-K if you wish to do
this or Ctrl-C to cancel.".
Protects very well against accidental mouse clicks. If some feature like
this will be added to centericq it would be nice to have it like this:
"cicq: Pasting [Nr] lines to [User]. Press [shortcut 1] to send all
lines as seperate messages, [shortcut 2] to send all lines in one
message or [shortcut 3] to cancel."

greetings,
Hans Spath

centericq 4.20.0

4.20.0
------

PGP encryption support was implemented for the Jabber module. In a nutshell
this means that with a proper setup your communications get a way more secure.
GPGME library is needed to build the PGP support.

Fixed the RTF parser that takes charge when a message from a Windows ICQ
client is received. One problem was that it used to treat backspace characters
wrong sometimes. Another problem with utf-16 was fixed with a patch submitted
by Vadim Nosovsky.

After ICQ dual login detection centericq used to try re-connecting, though it
wasn't supposed to. Fixed.

During a long time noone reported me the bug related to libicq2000's header
files getting installed each time "make install" was run for centericq. Finally
Wolfram Schlich noted this one, so I fixed it.

Logging on Yahoo! didn't work on Sun Sparc machines. Fixed that. That might
also revive Gadu-Gadu on bigendian architectures.

A couple of interface related bugs were fixed, such as a mistake in the group
organization dialog as well as not clearing pending messages for contacts in
non-chat communication mode.

4.20.0?

Erm...saw the announcement, sounds great. Just tried finding the source in
the archive and it's nowhere to be found. It probably helps to actually
release the tarball if you'd like people to try it. :)

Did you look at the centericq archive [1]? Because that's not the place
where Konstantin places the releases. The archive is from the CenterICQ
team which maintains the centericq.{de,nl,net, org, com} website. And we
need to have some time to put the archives there after Konstantin
announces a new version.
So when Konstantin annouces a new version you should look at the
official website of centericq [2]
