Re: BNR2 web site down?

Hi all. Your friendly web master here. I just looked at the site and I see the same thing that you are seeing.

iPowerWeb sent a message that they are moving to a new platform, what ever that means. I'll call them and see
what is going on. We should be paid through 2008. I pay it two years at a time.

Looks like iPowerWeb is still having problems. Anyway, what about
hosting the project at SourceForge or even better, at Savannah
(http://savannah.gnu.org/ ?). The latter would accept BNR as it runs
under GNU/Linux and it's licensed under GNU GPL and displays no
advertisements at all. In both cases, we would avoid such problems in
the future and coders would get several advantages (Bug reporting
tools, CVS and so on). You'd had to pay only for the domain name which
would redirect to the project page. I really think such a move would
make sense and hope it sounds OK to our friendly webmaster ;)

Also, thanks to other users I managed to find BNR2/3 on the mailing
list archives at Yahoo and I have a question, probably the most stupid
one ever asked on this mailing list: headers do work fine, exporting
NZB files too but when I import NZB files into BNR3, I just can't say
it "go on, begin the download!" I see the files on the queue, I am
connected to the news server (through Stunnel), but I just can't start
the download. I read the PDF guides, clicked on almost every option,
but looks like I need more coffee. Any help on this would be highly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I found how to make the downloads start: checking the box for "Try
downloading by Msg-ID when Art-ID unknown on Art-ID servers" in the
Import NZB window fixed the problem. Apart from that, I still hope
that BNR will get a project page on savannah... ;)

Goebbels was in favor of free speech for views he liked. So was
Stalin. If you're in favor of free speech, then you're in favor of
freedom of speech precisely for views you despise. Otherwise, you're
not in favor of free speech - Noam Chomsky.
