The short answer is that you cannot -- BNR is a pure reader and has no
posting capabilities.

Re: Re: File Request

I don't really post but the popular program seems to be PowerPost. The few times over the years I did post a
binary to a newsgroup I used that and it worked great.

You are corrrect: Powerpost is for posting binaries. To post a simple
request for a Windows user: use Outlook Express. Don't use OE for
binaries. Don't use Powerpost for text. It will work but is cumbersome.

Re: Re: File Request

OE works. For just text posting I use Agent.

Several binary newsgroups have twin text-only discussion groups. These
groups end with .d . For instance, alt.binaries.blabla will be
discussed in alt.binaries.blabla.d .
You may also find a specific requests group like
news:alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.requests .

To post to these text-only newsgroups a client like Mozilla
Thunderbird is what you need. You can get it from
http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/thunderbird/ (note that
there is a known and filed bug with news: links in Thunderbird, don't
click on them, enter them manually).

For more information about requests, I'd suggest
http://www.mp3-faq.org/faq2.html . Also, for more information on
Usenet, http://dmoz.org/Computers/Usenet/ would be a good starting
point. Look for sites providing information on binary newsgroups.

HTH.

re: group remove tool

Hey...

I'm a new member and new user. I was looking through the instruction
manual and I couldn't figure out how to solve this.

I have 3 groups I subscribe to currently. The first add was a mistake -
0.akita-inu and the Remove button is not available to remove this group
at all. The other two groups I've added have the Remove tool available,
but not the first one.

I've closed and restarted. It will not let me remove this group.

Help!

Thanks

Re: re: group remove tool

Go to the "Newsgroups" tab, you need to select the column which contains
the number of articles, rather then the name of the newsgroup.
