Fedora 14 Crashes

I've got a Fedora 14 system that periodically crashes when there's a large sequential write to a filesystem whose storage is on a remote array accessed via AoE.  The Fedora 14 system is the AoE initiator.

# uname -a
Linux  2.6.35.14-106.fc14.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Nov 23 13:07:52 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Is the highest supported Linux version 2.6.34?  (Based on the blog http://coraid.typepad.com/aoe_linux_proving_grounds/)

AoE is working freaking fantastic except for these periodic crashes.  We are seeing a crash every one or two weeks.

# cat /sys/module/aoe/parameters/version
78

(The AoE target is running "vblade.")

Just a tip to have old coraids appliances/disks perform better

Hi list,

We have a couple of old SR1521, and they perform really bad when rebuilding, I/O goes down dramatically. And
with old disks this happens more than usual. So to avoid this we have exported all disks with JBOD, and use
ZFS filesystem adding all disks to a ZFS pool. And when a disk fails performance doesn't go down so much.
Also when all disks in the pool are good, performance is actually much better (at least 50 %!). Processing
power is of course needed by ZFS, so you will need a server capable to handle this extra overhead (the server
on which you attach the SR1521).

We use
- latest free firmware for SR1521
- Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with ZFS and aoe driver (https://launchpad.net/~zfs-native/+archive/stable/)

/Lars
