Guy Clark

Well, Guy finally played here Tuesday May 15th.
16 years and 5 days after Townes played here
the first time in 1996.  It was great, guy is a bit
weathered but gathered himself and played a
great set.  Still rolls his own cigarettes from a
zip lock baggie of tobacco. He took a cigarette
on stage and I said, well this place is non smoking
unless your name is Guy Clark.....Pretty kool.

Hey Wrecks and all,

I didn't reply, but I did read it happily and even forwarded it to my
father.  He's a big Guy Clark fan (via me).  I can't remember my dad's
exact response, so I will paraphrase, but it was something like, "Love old
Guy, so full of wisdom.  Too bad he didn't mix up a yogurt smoothie on
stage instead of a cig."  I didn't reply to my dad either, but I liked the
idea of Guy mixin' up a smoothie.

I don't know what my response would have been at the time, but thinking
now, I want to say that I think Guy just keeps getting better and better,
and I think he should play at the Old Quarter more often.

I also explained to my dad briefly what this list is, who is on it, and
what a privilege it is for me to be on it, such a privilege that sometimes
I am too shy to reply to things.  :)  (Added the too shy to reply part
right now--didn't say that part to Dad.)
