Re: VitN updated

G'day everybody:

I would just like to add that your work - VitN - is a
valuable and definitive source of information for all
things TD related. Your work is much appreciated over
here in North Carolina, USA.

Thank you!!!
Geoff

Conrad Schnitzler News

Hi all

2 pcs of news about Conrad Schnitzler:

a) the new May issue of the British mag The Wire
should include an article on him (I haven't got it yet
but will do so).

b) for those who don't know it yet, Conrad just had
his 5 releases out on Japanese CDs (label is Captain
Trip): Blau, Rot, Schwarz, Gruen, Gelb. The CD sleeves
are paper sleeves and they are all issued as limited
editions.

Totally agree. Mota Atma is by far the best work of the family band
version of TD.

I thought Phaedra '05 was an awful album. Really one of the worst TD
has put out in a long long while. It truly sounds like a rush job
with no thought or effort put into it.

Hmmm.... My view of the stuff they've been putting out for some time
actually. Un-original and somewhat boring to be honest. Nothing memorable at
all, just one big blur....

Re: Re: Phaedra 2005

A few months back, it seemed to be the general consensus in here that most of
the new studio stuff {Jeanne D'Arc, Neptunes, Orange light years, Kyoto,
Dalinetopia, etc, etc, etc...} was pretty great. I'd suppose you can assume
that to still be the case. Somehow, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to
look for "new and original" in remakes of 3o year old albums. ...Maybe better
recording quality...

Re: Re: Phaedra 2005

time changes all moods and general feelings on things
Sort of like quoting Edgar from the 60's and holding him to that in the year 2006.

most don't post here either
so what few that do, does not make the general consensus, unless you are only talking to the few that do?

what new material that may appear in more recent re-masters is just that, things that may have been subdued
are brought out more openly... other things pushed back...
that is about all I can expect of re-masters and most do amaze me in what was missed or not head in the
original... not that all from TD pleases me after that touch in the way the original did... but such it is, isn't?

Are you lumping Jerome's solo work into TD on the reviews here? Or Edgar's and contrast with TD items? They
are different. Or is it all a mesh mash to you that any of the members works are all the same?

funny things your posts bring to mind...

The band consists mainly of Jerome and Edgar... Yeah, I'd lump all of it
together. It doesn't really matter what name they attach. Remakes are just
remakes.
