Can you include "Sukh Dukh Ki Harek Mala" from Kudrat
as Bhajan. That was sung by Chandrashekhar Gadgil too.

"Swami Dada" also had "PYaar Lo Pyaar Do" and "Sun Sun
Jeenewale", but that would not fall into the category
of Bhajan.

Re: Pancham ahh..Singapore ley

Looking forward to catching up too. I too agree it is truly amazing
to see the global reach of Pancham fans. Where do you people meet up.
I do not work in the CBD. But would definitely like to meet up during
the next lunch session. Let me know the time and venue.

Re: Injustice to Gujus - Is any Gujrati song composed

Hi Friends,

The song from Burning Train is more like Qawali setup. Hey u know guys
i met one chat friend from Gujrat she is also hardcore Pancham fan. I
asked her, as Ashaji has sung lot of guju songs is there any by chance
Album by Boss, she said no. I think <at> that time there was no movie
having dandia / Garba or nor any family drama representing Guju
family, these could be the reason why Boss didnt get chance of
thinking to come up with guju composition.

Regards

Uttam

RE: Re: Injustice to Gujus - Is any Gujrati song composed

First of all, it is gujarati songs, not guju song. Guju is kind of slang
or insulting word, atleast for non-Bombayites Gujaratis

Second, I do not understand the logic behind Pancham not composing for
Gujarati movies. Garba/Dandiya Raas had always been an integral part of
any Gujarati movie (fortunately or unfortunately). Also, Pancham's
career spanned from 1961 to 1994 (correct me if I am wrong), so which
time span are you talking about? If you are talking about the time
Burning Train was released, there must be number of Gujarati movies
released during that year.

Also, the song "Kahun Choon Jawani Ne" is older than "The Burning Train"

Asha Bhosle sang gujarati songs (filmi and non-filmi) mainly under the
baton of Avinash Vyas, Kalyanji Anandji, Dilip Dholakiya and maybe
Kshemu Divetiya.

Perhaps more experienced members like Ketan or Nandan can shed more
light on this

Re: Injustice to Gujus - Is any Gujrati song composed

There was Saraswati Chandra- in 1970 or 71 with a Gujarati setting.
It had a very good music score by KA.
