TABLA BEAT SCIENCE - Talamanam Sound Clash : Further Adventures in Hypercussion

Artist Name: TABLA BEAT SCIENCE

Album Title: Talamanam Sound Clash:Further Adventures in Hypercussion

Label Description: The musical project, Tabla Beat Science, presents the
world music experience. It's a melding of cultures, combining ancient
rhythms and modern audio/visual psychedelia that both reference the past
and advance the future. It's a musical expression of the western world's
continued exploration of eastern philosophy and metaphysics. This DVD is
a multi-sensory exploration of that vision. Filmed on June 21, 2002 with
twelve cameras at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco, you're
situated not only in the front row, but on stage with the Tabla Beat
Science players, and you're offered a choice of over ten different
vantage points. Intercut with powerful imagery and visual montages, this
two-disc, Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound set is a must have.

Street Date: 9/23/2003

Label: Axiom

List Price: 19.99

disque fantôme

A Submerge/Laswell album on Tzadik was supposed to be on the streets
in August, does someone have news about it?

Re: Digest Number 1342

Hey man,

I was there for all four shows. I figured there were
other list members there, but didn't think to set up
something before traveling to NY. All the shows were
different and great, Zorn and Patton were a bit too
loud for my tastes, but these were definitely
memorable shows. Hopefully someone taped them or these
will turn into a legit release. I think someone from
Tonic was recording all the shows (hidden up above the
bar and sound guy ... or was that Oz Fritz?)

Re: vexatiions and reconstructions

Hey hey Bill -

You'll prob. get a bunch o' mesgs. on this...so I'll venture a long,
overly-detailed version of the info:

The answer is - yeah kinda sorta: tracks 1/2/4/6 from "Recon & Vex"
are remixes from the 'originals' found on the "Wobble / Laswell -
RadioAxiom" disc.

Tracks 3 & 7 are remixes from orig. tracks on "Tabla Beat Science -
Tala Matrix" and track 5 first showed up on the "TBS - Live in San
Fran." CD.

Track 8 is an edit from the massively awesome "Laswell - Lo Def
Pressure" CD. If - like me - you are inexorably drawn towards the
sounds of Fender Rhodes, tablas, drum&bass beats, wide open low end
and The Captn's fade in/out dub style production I highly suggest
this release - just 2 tracks, both outside of 20 minutes length
apiece...aah just sit back and imagine Miles at the sessions banging
chords out on a cheap organ and blowing counterpoint to Bill's
rubbery dub bass - what could've been (don't misunderstand, tho - the
disc is rock solid 100% as is...I just like dreaming ;)

Best,

laswell vs. submerged

from the OHMResistance site:

BILL LASWELL vs. SUBMERGED - FOLLOWERS OF A BRUTAL CALLING
Bill is hard at work on the basslines and lo end killin' on this massive record, to be mixed after the Submerged Europe tour! We’d put up some unfinished clips, but they just wouldn’t do the tunes justice yet. This is coming on John Zorn’s own Tzadik label – not to be missed!

THE Confirmed tracklisting:
Decapitation Strike
Doctored Intelligence
UXO
Lockdown on Bridges on Tunnels
Whistleblower Body
110 (!!!!!!!)
Kill Bickford and Hart
Not Tomorrow or Never

3x12" Vinyl on Ohm Resistance (#16 or 17) will include 3 or 4 of the album tunes, a Stakka remix, an Impulse + Accela Remix, and an as yet to be announced remixer (!!!!).
