Skopelitis / Floridis / Temiz - OUR TRIP SO FAR (M Records)

Nicky Skopelitis - guitars and asst. lute instruments/Floros
Floridis - reeds/ Okay Temiz - percussion and electronic pyramid

Nicky Skopelitis himself just dropped off the very last copies
anyone's likely ever to see of this rare gem. (And was never even
sold in the US except for the feww copies we previously had
some time ago.
He confirmed that the Greek label [Label M] that put this out (and
also several other recordings featuring Floridis and/or Temiz) is
out of business.
They are $20 each + shipping.

We're now DEFINITELY not able to get more, so if you like
Nicky's work
as much as we do, don't hesitate! It's not just something to
complete your collection with - It's a truly fantastic trio recording,
full of rare color and power.

[Paul Schutze's] Phantom City - SHIVA RECOIL: LIVE-UNLIVE
(Virgin AMBT 21) CD

An amazing, powerful all-star avant-garde fusion jam (and we
don't mean commercial easy listening wallpaper!) featuring Paul
Schutze : keyboards, tapes, Raoul Bjorkenheim : guitar,
Toshinori Kondo : trumpet, Alex Buess : bass clarinet, Bill
Laswell : bass, Dirk Wachtelaer : drums; recorded at Tampere
Jazz Happening, November 3, 1996 in Pakkahuone, Finland.
In response to many requests for this rare gem [all titles
released on Virgin UKs AMBIENT sub-label were formally out of
print by 1999], we have been able to locate a few copies on the
shelf of an import distributor who wasn't even aware they had
them - we took them all.

$20 + shipping

In Stock: Raoul Bjorkenheim - SCORCH TRIO

Raoul Bjorkenheim - SCORCH TRIO (Rune Grammofon RCD
25, Finland)

Great post-fusion improv trio with the stellar rhythm section [also
with Mats Gustafson] of Ingebrigt Haker Flaten on acoustic and
electric basses and Paal Nilssen-Love on drums. These two
open the first cut for several minutes before Raoul comes in, and
if the whole recording had only been them, there would still not
have been a dull moment! But then Raoul comes in with his
super-creative blistering guitar, at times reminiscent of the "no
argument greatness" of McLaughlin in his 69-70 period (think
Tony William's EMERGENCY album!), but he takes it to a place
that is completely his own, and what was 'merely' a fantastic
recording becomes a stupendous super-classic!!! Definitely one
of the few absolute top releases of this year for me [Mannylunch]
CD for $17 + shipping
