Newbie cant figure it out.

Hi Tom,

This topic should be in the jOrgan - User forum, so I'll answer there
as well as to you. (jOrgan sound discussion forum is more for
soundfont creation and backend sound discussions). No worries though!

With the hardware/software that you have specified we can assume that
you're using the 64-bit version of Windows 7, but the JAVA environment
comes in 32-bit and 64-bit types, and the bit-ness of Fluidsynth
(which is the default sound element for most of the dispositions and
is installed with jOrgan for Windows) must match the JAVA bit-ness.
Given your statement of "being both computer illiterate and
electronics handicapped" I'm not going to ask which version of JAVA
you have installed, but we do need to know what version of jOrgan you
installed?

Once we have that information we can give you further diagnostic steps
to get jOrgan up and running on your PC.

Kind regards,
GrahamG

Release: Freedom Morton 2/6 Beta01 (Full) for jOrgan 3.19 with Fluidsynth

Hi,

For those who have been wondering why I'm so quiet, there are a few
reasons, one is a hectic work schedule at the moment, and the other is
this little baby.. a mostly Robert Morton theatre organ sample set for
jOrgan-Fluidsynth.

Thanks to all the Alpha testers who have helped test the disposition
and made comments about voicing, etc. There have been some major
changes in this project since the Alpha release (which was based on
the non-trem samples, using LFO for the trems). This Beta01 release
has all the notes in trem and non-trem, plus all the release portions.
In the Alpha the solo reed was a Wurlitzer Saxophone, but I have now
had time to do the NR work on the Robert Morton Tuba and so the solo
reed in the Beta is the Tuba. The Saxophone will be back in a later
disposition.

You can download the disposition/soundfonts as a RAR package from:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4OTGbifRnzhaHg0eDBoVWtPQlk/edit?usp=sharing

The download is 267Megs in size and decompresses to 506 megs on your harddrive.

I am also working on a Lite version (which is why this released
version has the "Full" designation) where the trem portions have much
smaller loops and the non-trem shares three notes per octave, with
only releases for the two reed ranks.

The members of the theatre from which these ranks were recorded have
asked that the theatre remain anonymous, as these recordings were
taken for archival purposes and are being released for free under the

Re: Σχετ: Three ideas

Additionally, they can be useful for a Tutti/Sfz/Full Organ function.
Click - on, click - off, and the graphic "rests" in the false position...
I find what GH mentioned to be the most important reason to have
reversibles - playing aids on the virtual console so one can have an entire
organ on his computer.

Three ideas

Hi all,

Here are links to a disposition on three jOrgan concepts:
1) Reversible Piston
2) Double On/Off Switch (binary selector via two contols)
3) Menu (how to control multiple continous elements via a single set of
incrementers)

http://www.mediafire.com/?6apfxh8ebabiip3 (.zip version)
http://www.mediafire.com/?xjccbuwmycjhbac (.disposition alone)

Note: there is no skin, so don't be confused when it doesn't show up!

Comments?

ACO with corrected 7P/137 disposition, and Ste. Madeleine

The j3.19_ACO_FS_5.06A disposition package is now available. It includes a corrected 7 division, 137 stop disposition, prepared with the help of many others. Thank you.

Available here:  https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/jorgan/index.php?title=Stratman_Virtual_Instruments#American_Classic_Organ

Also, the Ste. Madeleine of Normandy organ has returned with the jOrgan logo and some minor corrections to the disposition, including rebuilt flexible wind simulation.

Re: Σχετ: German Baroque Organ for 3.11.1

Hi Dennis,

Just wondering, what processor are you running? Twin core, quad core etc.

I've been running win 7 64 bit since it came out, [originally on a twin
core, then on a quad core processor] and have had no problems with
latency.....Have you tried reinstalling win 7 again, do you know what dma
settings [in win 7] you're using?

regards
Paul.......

When I open the new Christie version 3.19 It loads into JO but no skins
appear, only the
small icons. What do I need to do?

More on zita-rev1 and ambiphonics

For those of you who are interested in experimentation, here is some information to mull over.

This is Linux only unfortunately.

zita-rev1 has an ambiphonic mode which is started by using a -B switch.  Instead of giving a stereo output, it produces an ambiphonic B-format signal.  This can then be fed to a decoder to produce signals to drive speakers.

(The B-format signal is an encoded sound field, not "channels" as we would normally understand them.)

There is a decoder on the zita linux audio site - Ambdec.  It has a whole bunch of presets for different speaker configurations up to (I think) 24 or so.

There are two or three presets that I find interesting, and may be of use to virtual organs.  (They all would be useful of course, but the more channels, the more expense!)

The square/rectangle presets - you have 4 speakers in 4 corners of the listening space at ear level.  This provides a complete horizontal sound field.  You can compensate for different speaker distances by editing the preset file.

The 5.1 channel preset.  This decodes the B-format to a 5 channel surround signal which you can use with any 5.1 speaker system.

The advantage is that all 5 channels are equal - the "front" and "surround" concepts don't apply in ambiphonics. You hear as if you were in the middle of the created sound field, not just listening "to" the sound.

I can't wait to get a setup organised and running.

If I can, I'll see if I can get a live Puppy going for folk to play with - but that will be a significant way down the track.

Regards
Graham

Barton Theatre Organ Series (3/7, 3/10, and 3/12) for jOrgan 3.19 LinuxSampler / Gigastudio

Hi,

I have finished the creation of the jOrgan 3.19 Gigastudio and
LinuxSampler dispositions, and have updated the project page with all
the downloads, so they are now all available for testing.

I also did some dB adjustments in the gig files, so have re-uploaded
most of them with those changes incorporated (better initial voicing).

https://sites.google.com/site/savirtualorgans/home/barton-theatre-organ/jorgan-linuxsampler--gigastudio

I still have one more 'rank' to complete - the Xylophone Reit, so
might get to that tomorrow :)

Have fun!

Re: [VTPO] Feedback on Barton 3/7 Theatre Organ for Gigastudio / LinuxSampler users - Alpha release

Hi Lynn,

You need to set the Polyphony options in jSampler Fantasia. Click on
the Preferences icon on the top icon menu, the Polyphony options are
on the General Tab. I've set mine to max voices of 1024 and disk
streams of 2048.

I'm not sure if one can set them using the LSCP file... will have to
investigate that (but as I mostly use Fantasia I've never needed to
change them from the script).

And Opps... that is the' Beautiful Dreamer' from Rick's Christie that
I've been using for testing and simply forget to mention... <at> Rick can
we use it and distribute it?

Re: German Baroque Organ for 3.11.1

After loading the organ, go to file in the menu and select properties. Click
next until you get to Audio Buffers. Tell us what numbers you have there. I
personally found the combination 8/512 to be the best match for my system.
If they are not set like this, try setting Buffers to 8 and size to 512 and
check the organ out again.

Marco
