Jane song (s) on new kd lang cd

NEW ALBUM HYMNS OF THE 49th PARALLEL COMING THIS SUMMER

k.d. lang begins her first symphony orchestra tour April 30 at Houstons
Jones Hall for the Performing Arts. Audi of America will be the presenting
sponsor for 24 of the tours 46 North American performances; please see
reverse for a complete list of dates.

A winner of multiple Grammy Awards, lang also has been widely recognized as
a singular live performer. In the upcoming concerts, she will be backed by
some of the worlds foremost symphony orchestras and will perform a
diversity of songs spanning her career, including material from her
forthcoming Hymns of the 49th Parallel. On the new album, lang interprets
songs by her favorite Canadian songwritersJoni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen,
Neil Young, JANE SIBERRY, Ron Sexsmith, and Bruce Cockburn. The recording is
slated for a summer release; more details will be announced soon.

Audi presents k.d. lang builds upon Audis inclusion of lang in the 2003
Never Follow campaign, which recognized lang as one of eight cultural
innovators ranging from Daniel Libeskind to John Malkovich. Audis director
of marketing, Michael Lembke says, k.d. lang is a remarkable performer who
truly embodies Audis Never Follow brand philosophy throughout her talents.
He added, We are proud to continue our partnership through support of her
tour this year.

lang echoed Lembkes enthusiasm: I was honored to be chosen by Audi as one
of eight cultural innovators last year and admire the way Audi is actively
involved with performing arts organizations in the US and Canada, supporting
symphonies & opera. I am especially grateful for their support of my tour
with symphonies this year.

even though it's supposedly coming out in canada later this month.

of course, 1 website i bumped into said that there's a kate bush album

10.5

Did anyone catch the movie about earthquakes that was on this week? While
the movie was dreadful, I was happy to see Rebecca Jenkins in a major role. I
had heard that after her Jane days she went on to become a successful actor in
Canada. I hope we get to start seeing more of her in the states.

David.

Re: 10.5

That's funny. My partner and I started watching 10.5 (we lasted about 20
minutes) and when Rebecca's name came up in the credits I 'mused aloud' if that
was the Rebecca Jenkins. My partner is not a Jane fan and had no idea who the
hell I was talking about.

If I had known it was her I would have suffered through the rest of the show.

Usually lurking and back into my cave,

Michael

Re: 10.5

It was shot in Vancouver. I think most of what she has acted in is Canadian
shot. IMDB lists her next to be seen project is Wilby Wonderful, shot in Nova
Scotia.

Rebecca has done a fair bit of stuff, including an Outer Limits, and an episode in
the "latest" Twilight Zone" series, both of which shot in Vancouver.

B. Fun Facts and Thank You's

"Thank you India, Thank you Alanis".
We'd like to thank Alanis Morissette for the lovely things she said about Jane recently.
Alanis said in Oprah Winfrey's magazine "O" (April 2004) that she listens to Jane 60 percent of the time when
she is at home.

"One of the first artists I listened to as a young person was Jane Siberry, a Canadian singer-songwriter.
She's a poetic force; very lilting and enigmatic. So when I'm alone at home, she's always on, I'd say about
60 percent of the time."

Re: kd lang cd tracklisting (2 jane songs)

thanks for the track info, craig.

i think k d singing "the valley" would be great. "love is everything",
i'm less sure about (we already have TWO great versions!).

It's nice to be liked
But it's better by far to get paid
I know that most of the friends that I have
Don't really see it that way
But if you could give 'em each one wish
How much do you wanna bet
They'd wish success for themselves and their friends
And that would include lots of money

k d langs new CD

YIKES!!! k d doing Joni's "Case of You"?????

well...Diane Krall did a pretty good job with it. That song and Joni's
version are just so magical I hope k d does it justice.

Just my 2 cents
