Re: Shus-NY.

I just wish I'd been around when it captured. I would have set it for the first
airing, and discovered, figured out how for the second.

Chances are pretty good that the Messiah will be archived, so I hope this
special will too. Perhaps we can bet JS to arrange for it's archiving if they
don't plan to.

In San Francisco 2002 I requested "The Taxi Ride" and Jane did about half of
it. I love that song and would love to see here include it in a setlist
again. The first two times I saw her ('87 and '90) she closed with it.

If I remember right, Jane has said that "In My Dream" is going to be on the
new record.

Re: Winny Peg. Temp posting.

I got a little confused, she mentioned a "new" song, but I know I've heard
it before. Perhaps this means she will be including it as "new" since it's
not previously been published as a Sheeba production. I think there are two
or three such songs that get some what regular play at venues but haven't
yet been to commited to CD.

One piece I do hope she includes is one she did with Snow on a TV broadcast,
(promo show for the Bluebird North a while back).

On the other hand, any bets for yet another version of Calling All Angels?

Previously I had wondered if there was any Hush trackage not put out on the
CD that might be included as a bonus disc, I'm sure there was a bit for
Shushan too.

New Email Addy

Sibs,

This is my new email addy. I just moved into my first home. I'm very
excited, and slowly getting
things in order. I must admit I am liking the bareness of the walls right
now.

On a more relevant note, I just finished watching the new Siberry dvd, Beauty
Train, and it is
wonderful. I definitely recommend you purchase it if you haven't already. Of
course, I buy anything Siberry without discretion, but for the less than happy
siblings as of late, the dvd is sure
to encourage a smile, or a tear.

I cried during her performance of a new song called Willow. This song, dare I
say, is right up there with Barkis Is Willin', and Goodbye Sweet Pumpkinhead
for me. I really hope it gets a studio release. There is a place near the
beginning of the song where the music is integrated with the sounds of the
audience talking, and Jane getting ready for the show that really reminded me
of songs like Vladimir Vladimir (a song I really hold dear). I hope to hear
what everyone else thinks of it soon.

"I remember a young boy. I remember him singing.
There was no fighting. There was no anger. There was Peace. There was
Calm."
- from Willow by Jane Siberry

Best of 2003

Howdy!

Well, I reckoned since I am back at home in Nebraska this week with nuttin'
to do but mourn the loss of my beloved Grandma with the rest of my family,
I would get my list together. This year, unlike most of y'all it appears, I
have acquired close to 200 CDs this year both released in this year and
earlier. Since I don't have a telley but have 50+1 CD home stereo system, a
car CD player and an iPOD, I listen to musak all the freggin time. I listen
to about 50 of the approximately 1500 CDs of mine a week.
Yeah..yeah..yeah.. I am CDaholic and my name is Troy.

Anyway, of the 2003 releases, many from my favorite peeps were less than
stellar or somewhat disappointing. While these ablums were good, they just
weren't great especially when compated to previous albums. These include
albums from Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, Basement Jaxx, Madonna, eels,
Missy Elliot, Erykah Badu, Rosanne Cash, Jane Siberry and many others. Even
with those outta the running, making a list was extremely difficult. I have
15 here but there are many honorable mentions including albums from Amy
Allison, Nelly Furtado, Macy Gray, Leona Naess, Bettie Serveert, Beth
Gibbons and Rustin Man, The Sounds, The Thrills, Carla Werner, Kathleen
Edwards, Catherine Irwin, The Bad Plus, etc.

On with the list:
15. Kylie Minogue - Body Language: Well, this is not as great as her last
two albums but it is still fun. It has an R&B feel to most of the songs and
an homage to the Destiny's Child sound of music. It made the list mostly
cause it made the trip to airport for the flight back home for the funeral
bearable.

14. Sun Kil Moon - The Ghosts of the Great Highway: The remnants of the Red

Re: Best of 2003

I agree with that. I'm not sure it's her BEST work, I prefer her first solo album,
but this comes close. I'm hoping that she and Dave will come out with another
new Eurythmics this year.

The Lord of the Rings had GOT to have the acadamy people going nuts. It's lot like
it's three movies, it's really a three part mega series. Jackson appears to be
favorite for best Director.

I'll have to pay more attention to the soundtrack when I watch it again. I thought
it was Annie, but I was so blown away by the rest of the movie that I was almost
numb. First Enya, now Annie. I wonder if Peter Jackson realizes that the
Canadian band Rush had some Tolkien inspired pieces in the early 80s.

Hey Siblings. I haven't gotten any sib-mails in the past few days and when
that happens I always wonder if something is wrong with the list and I am being
left off. Have there been any since the 6th? If so would someone please
forward them?
Thanks.

David.
