Sib on Vision.

Vision TV has Siberry on at 7pm PT, it's a show called Credo, announcing
her "new record label", so must be an old re-run.

Re: Sib on Vision.

By the way, Vision is a religious/inspirational Canadian cable station.

Credo is a half hour show, listed as a talk show. It will also re-air
3:30am 9:30am and 1:30pm PT Tuesday. It's a national feed, so the times
are listed as Pacific time, adjust accordingly (ie 10PM ET for the first
airing).

The promo on the show did say the new record label Sheeba, so is definately
old.

Re: Sib on Vision.

Hey Sibs,

I just watched Credo. The show is quite recent. The description "announcing
her new record label" is not accurate. I found it very worthwhile! It's
playing again at 4:30AM , 10:30AM , 2:30PM Mountain Standard time. Worth
taping if you can, I think.

Find out more about it here.

Re: Sib on Vision.

I agree with your assessment. It was copyrighted 2002, so I'm assuming it
shot this year.

It had to be one of the strangest talk shows. It looked a whole lot like she
was directly addressing questions, but we never saw the host/moderator.

So I guess the question comes down to.... What religious beliefs does she
hold? Typical Siberry, she never fully commits to one set view. The irony,
with all her views, in tune with the universe, God, Jesus (or not), nature,
etc, she doesn't like the word spiritual, even though I'd say that term is
closer than just about any other.

I do have it recorded, I think. Captured both on tape and digitally, so will
try and post it.... I suppose I should look to post the Songwriters circle too.

non-sib music

Merry Holidays!

Recently I have been playing a couple of terrific CDs
from female singer/songwriters with stylings that
remind me of our Sib, so I thought I'd share with all
of you.

Maybe you might know of these, but in case not, here
they are:

 Lynn Miles -- "Unravel"
A hypnotic CD released this year with tender lyrics,
sweet ("Jane-like") vocalization, as well as surf
guitar and other fun instrumentation.

 Salamander Crossing -- "Bottleneck Dreams"
Contains a beautiful rendition of the Tennyson poem
"Crossing the Bar." That alone is worth the price of
the CD.
This is a 1998 release from a band that has since
re-formed to be Daisy Mayhem, but with the same lead
singer -- Rani Arbo. Her voice kinda reminds me of
Natalie Merchant but with a little less tremolo.
Saw Daisy Mayhem in concert a few weeks ago. If they
come near you, go. The Salamander stuff was old-timey
folk. The new band is more hip.

festive non-sib music

Seeing as we're recommending new music:

there is a beautiful Xmas ep, available FREE at my
favourite bands website.

MOSES (singer Paul used to be a memeber of this
siblings group, that's how I found out about them)are
kind of acoustic pop - "Bound by the Beauty" type
stuff. I've raved about them in the past.

If you go to http://www.mosesband.com and click on the
"Get Free Music" page, they're sending out the EP for
free as a kind of Thankyou to fans and a hello to
strangers.

(The song "Breath Of Bells" = Very sib-ish)

Re: non-sib music

way awesome! music from people i have never ever heard of. thanks sheila!

today i have been listening to 2 albums-
'learning to crawl' by the pretenders. it was in this year, my 28th year, that i finally understood this
album. i understood what chrissie meant when she sang 'middle of the road'. its called growing up.

'live between us' by the tragically hip. this is a great live album, because it shows some of the spontinaity
of gordon downy's lyrical poetic stylings. similar to jane's magic live, but of course more on the guitar
rock side of it all. i noticed on the 13th track, a song called 'nautical disaster' at about the 4th minute
gordon suddenly starts out a new chorus with "cmon cmon cmon cmon, i want into your temple" singing it
twice. oh those canadians! appreciating others art randomly in the middle of a raucious live rock show. it
still makes me smile.

hugz to y'all,
-sharon-

p.s.- in magazone/literary recommendations i would suggest "the sun", a small but national
literary/photography magazine based out of north carolina. check it out next time youre at the magazine
rack at the natural food store. its like a warm, wise friend sometimes.

Jane on Credo, video.

Here is the video captures of her appearance on Credo.

I've included to versions, a low bandwidth version, for lower speed
internet connections, and should be viewable as at real time in a higher
speed connection. The High bandwidth version is much larger, and is
video CD compatible for anyone wanting to burn it to Video CD and play
on a DVD player.

I did have to de-hiss the audio, the ATI card seems to introduce a high
volume hiss to the capture, which can be painful on the ears.

She dances around on so many tangents about her....... views (can's say
spirituality, can I).
