Interview with Theo Burt on perceptual processes, visual music and intermedia art

Theo Burt is a UK-based artist working with sound, video and light. His work
draws on interests in perceptual relationships between sound and image and
aesthetic applications of technology. Burt’s recent projects have focused on
the use of related sound and video to create a transparency of process, and
the effect of partial-predictability on perceptions of time. His work
includes installations, live performances and fixed-media pieces.

Theo Burt talks about perceptual processes, visual music and intermedia art.

Wild Kingdom Scrapple Warning

If you grew up long ago in the Deep South like I did, you know Scrapple.
It's a couple of steps below Spam - everything but the squeal... Well,
tonight's Wild Kingdom isn't quite that inclusive, but let's say it's -
diverse. Expect cameos from Claude Young, Meditation Dub, Black Dog,
Michael Meyer, Morganistic, Richard Kirk, Count Zero, Isan, The
Keyprocessor, Rob Gordon/Black Knight, and a host of others. It's time
as well for the third installment of the "DJ of the Month Club". This
time the person in the spotlight is Jeff Mills, and his set-under-glass
"The Exhibitionist". Last week's Wild Kingdom can be viewed at
http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=38621 .

Limited time archives for all shows on KFJC are available at
http://www.kfjc.org/broadcast_archives/ . These are "rolling archives",
available for two weeks after any given show. My shows are listed under
"Goodwrench". Send comments and suggestions to info <at> kfjc.org .

"The Wild Kingdom" airs on KFJC-FM 89.7, Friday Night/Saturday Morning,
10P-2A (6A-10A GMT). Potential listeners outside the San Francisco Bay
area can find a webcast at http://www.kfjc.org/netcast/index.php .
Present and past Wild Kingdom playlists are also archived at kfjc.org.
You can also check out archived playlists from my first KFJC show "Just
Desserts" that was on Fridays 10P-2A from 1992 through 1999 (Deja Vu,
huh?). Archived playlists exist for that show starting from Fall 1995 to
New Year's Eve 1999/2000, so you can see what what I'm up to these days
is pretty much consistent with what I was up to all along.

If you do tune in (especially via the web), please take a little time to
let me know your locale. I'm also interested in promo music from all
over and in promoting local (San Francisco Bay area) techno-type events.
If you want to do some promotion for an event, contact the KFJC

my live set from last night

Yes there is a bar in Iowa City called the Blue Moose Tap House, and
yes they have their own beer on tap called 'Moose Drool' but it is
actually a pretty sweet setup...
