Re: reaktor

ok, so, I've started using Ableton Live with Reaktor as a VST, and I'm
getting the hang of it, generally, but when I automate my grains
(using a variation on the Travelizer preset) it sounds like shit! the
automation is drawn in as a straight line between two points, and I'd
expect the result to be nice and smooth, but the automation is
quantized to 16ths.

(sample: “because” by the beatles, 80 bpm)

how do I fix this?

Yes, it's perfectly smooth when I play it live.

Varia - Dance Emergency video + single

Hi boys and girls,

I've been a busy bee with friend of mine called Jari for these past 2
years, working on a project called Varia. The whole idea is rehashing
culture and having fun.

We've finally put out the first single (and music video) called "Dance
Emergency".

The video is here, our store is linked from there as well in case you like it:

Would love it if you share with your friends!

Best,
Juho

Re: reaktor

Turn off 'Snap to Grid' in options if you want to draw smooth automation.

It's a limitat

Re: reaktor

Sorry hit send by accident. What I was going to say is that Live can't
draw automation curves -- it's always a straight line from control
point to control point. But you can approximate a curve by drawing it
with the pencil tool.

Re: reaktor

Actually I just tried playing it live while the midi clock was
ticking, and still got the same quantized-to-the-16th result. I don't
know. I'll try it as an AU in GarageBand.

another note: this happens with my Oxygen8 knobs, mouse, and with
TouchOSC, but only for the X-axis (position) and only while the track
is playing (MIDI clock ticking). the Y-axis (grain length) is not
affected by this.
