Important indicator that you are not genuinely 'addicted': that you can
actually physically endure the incredibly painful (for addicts) process you
nonchalantly refer to as 'having a clearout'.
Congratulations. You're clearly well on the road to recovery ;-P

kenneth kirschner - november.2006 (RSC011)

site: http://ropeswingcities.com
release: http://ropeswingcities.com/?p=65
podcast: http://ropeswingcities.com/wp-rss2.php?cat=5

Release number eleven on Rope Swing Cities brings us a special treat, and
that is a collection of beautiful sounds by none other than open source
music hero and experimental composer extraordinaire Kenneth Kirschner.

Setting this release apart from much of his other work, november.2006
contains two longer percussion pieces, which much like his ambient music,
build and flow with ease, each composition climbing up to a crescendo of
sound before drip-dropping away towards a calming end. Both tracks are
tribal in nature, the continually shifting rhythms inviting a meditative,
trance-like state when listening, while subtle and occasionally
not-so-subtle atmospherics float in the background drawing each song
together.

Juxtaposed against these two pieces, are sounds that Kirschner fans may
find more familiar, 04271991, a beautiful, minimal piano piece, crisp and
clean playing accentuated by hints of eerie and mournful washes of sound
floating through the background. Rounding out the release is 04172006, a
beautiful soundscape evoking feelings of winter, which is appropriate, at
least here in Colorado, as the cold and snow settles in upon us as a sort
of anti-blanket.

November.2006 is a welcome edition to the Rope Swinig Cities family and
carries us on into the winter from fall as a perfect accompaniment to the
quiet exploration of your hometown’s streets and secret places. Enjoy!

joshua.

Ultre >> CD >> Audiobulb

Hi All on the IDM list >> Really excited to tell you about the next
audiobulb release....

>> All The Darkness Has Gone To Details [Ultre] >> out now

The Ultre debut release presents structured musical pieces utilising piano,
guitar, home made instruments and electronics. Elegant, delicate, complex,
organic, bold, charming, melancholy, nervous, or violent.. We are getting a
constant stream of great (and grateful) feedback on this one....

Visit www.audiobulb.com to hear track previews >>

Here is what the reviewers think >>

The Wire > 274 says....

""The animation work of Finn McNicholas - aka Ultre - has been used on
Warp's Works & 20th Century Composers tour, and Warp's influence is
certainly in evidence in the rhythmic chassis of All the Darkness, with its
intemperate bursts of squalid rhythm counterpointed by more placid
sequences. However, what lends the album its individuality is his use of
instruments made from metal and wire, as well as slightly bashed-about
acoustic instruments such as the untuned piano that weaves unsteadily
through "Nobodies Favourite". There's a nice contrast between the
conventionally sleek, futuristic aura of the electronic components of these
pieces and a bustling, clankier DIY element suggestive of creaky doors and
busy toolsheds.""

::: suchaturnon | updates ::: SATO

SATO - http://suchaturnon.com/

-- everything is on sale - price dropped to $9.99 for the holidays.
there probably won't be any new designs until the new year.

-- the first 5 "downgrade" analog sample rate reducer pedals / synths -
are finished and available for order. tons of samples, a couple photos,
and all the details can be found here -
http://thesquarewaveparade.com/downgrade.html also a free shirt with
each one, but if you want something else from SATO instead of the
squarewave designs just let me know.

-- a large number of my designs can now be purchased at robot speak
http://www.robotspeak.com/ in SF up around haight and steiner. they have
the final 23 prints made with the old max design. so if you missed out
get in touch with them.

-- i'm thinking about cutting out the screen of the old max design and
giving it away with the actual last print made though - anyone have any
ideas for a stupid contest or anything?

-- oh and i'm only printing and shipping shirts twice a week now. so
the time frame for delivery has slowed down a day or two or three. if
you need something rushed though, i can still do it with some notice and
for free as long as your nice about it.

vinyl manufacturers for 12"" singles?

just wondering if any artists/labels on this list can recommend kick-ass vinyl
pressing plants or rather middlemen, with both good prices and pressing quality.
that is to say familiar with pressing 12" dance singles and getting good sound out of
them.

because of shipping costs, i'd prefer in the northeast, but anywhere in the US or even
nearby canada is OK.

thanks in advance.
