Well, I got the Logitech Squeezebox Radio, and I am very happy with it. 
It worked right out of the box, and I was able to find my favorite
radio station (in PA, I'm in LA) with no problem.  Explored a few other
channels.  Even explored My Music, and the tunes that SB recognized are
no problem and I got them to play.  I still have to figure out what's up
with the tracks that SB didn't recognize.

I have one more question - there is a headphone jack.  Can I plug my
home theater into that?  I thought someone said that you could do that,
but I don't want to try unless someone tells me it's okay.

discussion indicating that the European mysqueezebox.com servers are
having major problems at present.

Yes, but be careful of the Volume.  You now have two Volume controls to
maintain:  Radio and your AVR/receiver.

I haven't added my new sb, I just plugged it in, gave it my network
password and it worked.

anyway, problem solved. I managed to log on and remove it, hope that's
all that's needed. cheers for the help.

Double Wireless Hop?


Sorry if that's not the correct terminology but I'm a PC numpty.

When I first bought my Duet last year the computer with the music
located on it was used wirelessly, but the Duet wouldn't work properly
with both the PC and itself wireless. I was advised on here to either
wire the PC or the Duet reciever to the Router which solved the problem
and has been rock solid ever since.

But, recently I've been wondering about why it wouldn't work and
whether there is a way to make it work without dropping out all the
time? Is it a job that a PC numpty could manage? or am I best leaving it
alone?

Double WiFi hops work fine for many users, myself included.  I can
stream full WAV files to several players with a double WiFi hop.

How well it works depends on many factors.  Size of files being
streamed, robustness of router & WiFi, computer capabilities, network
setup & configuration, WiFi signal strength, network and internet
throughput, number of synced players using WiFi, other traffic on your
network, WiFi interference and competing WiFi networks, structure of
building, etc..

Example:  Double WiFi hop should not be a major issue for most lossy
streaming (mp3's and Internet Radio).  But even such low bandwidth
streaming can be an issue on some networks.
But a double hop will often cause problems lossless streaming like FLAC
or WAV as this is much more network intensive.

Controller Menus


Hi all
Is it possible to have different menu structures for different players
on the Controller?
I tend to search by Artist on my Boom but by Album on my Classic &
would like to tailor the corresponding menus accordingly.
Also plug-ins that apply to one player show up in the other players
menu too.

Mine was/is a very simple set up. All three, PC, router and single SB
are in the same room which is roughly 12ft x 12ft, it would regularly
drop out whilst playing FLAC files and I couldn't see how I could make
the set up any simpler so I went with wiring the PC to the router and
all has been well since. 

I just read of set-ups like yourselve's and can't get my head around
it.

Control from where


I'd like to know if one can control the music being streamed to the
stereo can be controlled from the computer, or only via the Controller. 
i.e. can I go into iTunes, and select a play list, start, stop, switch
song, etc. (to play through Squeezebos and thus my stereo) from my
computer?
