Is there a good place to get these cover files?

I forgot to ask how you can embed the images in the flac files
directly.

Re: Album cover with flac?

I personally use an app called Album Cover Art Downloader, but there are
various others, if you search the forum you'll see other
recommendations. Most seem to pull the images from Amazon.

As for adding images to the files themselves, you can use the --picture
option with the flac encoder, or a more friendly tool such as mp3tag.

You can use some type of tagging software such as Mp3tag (
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ ). I find that using files named either
folder.jpg or cover.jpg is more manageable, though. Any time you want
to change the cover (if you find a better scan, for instance) you just
drop a new file into the folder and rescan with SlimServer. Embedding
artwork in tags means that you have to get out the tagging software and
rewrite the artwork in every file for the album.

The only advantage I have found with embedding the artwork into files
is that if I move a single file onto a portable player then the artwork
goes with it, if you don't do that then stick with folder.jpg or
cover.jpg. I also use album art downloader although for a lot of my
covers I just scanned them in myself.

Re: Album cover with flac?

If you're on Windows, I find Tag&Rename is very good for artwork. Album
Cover Art Downloader is also good. Think it's only the very recent
versions of FLAC encoder which support embedded artwork - what version
are you running?

Re: Fast forward?

And it is possible to modify Song Scanner to move in large jumps. Useful
if one has a long item and wants to move several minutes.

If you install the flac package the command line tagger metaflac will
also be installed.
To embedd cover art you can call metaflac this way:

Code:
--------------------
    metaflac --import-picture-from=cover.jpg *.flac
--------------------

cover.jpg is the name of the cover art file.
Cover art will be added to all flac files in the current directory.

-s.

If you have a lot to get at once, then a utility like Album Art
Aggregator or others is a good way to go. For smaller batches (like
when I add new CDs to my library) I find Amazon is a great source.

Re: Cannot clear database

Hi wywywywy

I'm sorry I don't have any advice to offer, 'cos I have the same
problem!

I have an album by Bert Kaempfert, (tags renamed using Tag&Rename), but
SqueezeCenter insists that there are 3 'Artists':

Bert Kaempfert
Bert Kaempfert & His Orchestra
Bert Kampfert (note misspelling).

I have tried everthing that has been suggested here, with no success.

Description of system:
Windows XP SP2.
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0 - 16375 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252, on
internal C:\ drive.
Music files on external 150GB drive H:\. (13500+ tracks).
No playlists.
Don't use iTunes folder.

As far as I can tell using Tag&Rename, and MP3Tag, the tags are fine, I
have stripped the V3.1 tags.

I cleared the library and just used the folder: H:\My Music\Bert
Kaempfert\ as my scan directory, with the following reported by
SqueezeCenter: 1 Album with 21 Songs by 3 Artists.
