Don't see all artists in list?

Hello All!

I just purchased a Squeezebox, and am anxiously awaiting it! :) I
have an Infrant ReadyNAS NV+, and installed the software tonite and
pointed it to the proper location and told it to find my music (all
flac). It found everything (that I could tell) ~243 albums. I did an
"artist" search for Linkin Park, and it returned nothing, but when I
did a search for the song name "papercut" it popped up that it was on
the Hyrbid Theory album by Linkin Park. "Linkin Park" was a link, and
I clicked on it, and still nothing.

Does it take a while to build all the information in the database?

Thanks,

Matt

How do I add MusicIP playlists to Now Playing with remote?

I spent some time trying to get my slimserver to talk to my MusicIP
library, but to no avail. Recently, I upgraded to the latest 6.5.2
build and like magic, it started working...almost. I get the mm symbol
in my mixable music, and if I hold down the play button, it tells me
that it's creating a list, and then, nothing. If I go to my computer
and click on the mm icon, I get a playlist, but it doesn't add to now
playing. I have to add it manually. From the player, I can't figure
out how to add the newly created playlist to now playing using the
remote.

I looked at the wiki and searched the forums, but found no solution.
What stupid obvious thing am I missing?

Can you just clarify exactly what happens when you press and hold Play
on the remote? Does it say "MusicMagicMixing..." and then show the
first song in the playlist that this generates?

Re: use old pc as music server?

In case you still need the following. To find the IP address assigned
to the system under the stairs, go to the Windows PC and open up a dos
shell. In Windows XP use > Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Command Prompt.

The in the DOS Shell type "ipconfig" and the IP address will show up.

No - when it says it has finshed scanning and gives you some numbers,
that means it has found all it is going to.

Which version did you install?

I believe there is a bug in 6.5.2 which misses out tracks with the
COMPOSER tag set, which is fixed in the nightlies available from
http://www.slimdevices.com/dev_nightly.html

There isn't a FLAC option in EAC - you have to point EAC at the
FLAC.exe file as your external compression program. See
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?EACBeginners for details.

If you've only got 25 CDs already ripped to AAC format, you might want
to consider re-ripping them to FLAC anyway. Then again you might
not!!

But if you are going to keep some of both types around, I would suggest
keeping them in a structure that separates the two types, you will find
it easier to manage as time goes on.

To start, you'll need an amp/receiver with multiple inputs. This is
pretty common stuff. For switching them ON/OFF, I'd recommend an
advanced remote that can be set up to turn on the appropriate equipment
with a single button. Logitech makes the Harmony line, Philips makes
the Pronto line, and there are a lot of other options here. (Two
things to note: I work for Logitech, but not the Harmony group; and I
am NOT the right guy to help you with what remote is best -- I just
don't know).

IIRC, I press and hold once to generate the playlist, and then have to
press play a second time to actually start playing from that playlist.

USB networking devices have a reputation of poorly-written drivers.

Just imported Blur Parklife in FLAC but the Slimserver is registering it
as INXS on Live Baby Live! Why is it doing this and how can I resolve
