Re: Auto scan library and playlists...

That's what I needed! Thanks! I accidentally unchecked that yesterday.

Changed location of iTunes library on Mac and now Slimserver can't find it

My Powerbook hard drive was approaching critical mass so I moved my
iTunes music library to an external firewire drive. Fine for iTunes but
not for Slimserver. It can't locate my new library and I don't know what
path name to specify in Server Settings. It would be easy in Windows but
I'm not that proficient in OSX so how do I let it know that the music
library is now in another location? What's the path name??

Set up help.

Thanks if you can help me figure this out.

I've got my Squeezebox connected via ethernet and router to my home
network. I have a G4 to which I have connected a hardrive via firewire
which holds all my music. iTunes is directed to use this as its music
source. Squeezebox and Slimserver work flawlessly.

Here's my question: I have a laptop on the second floor which connects
to my home network wirelessly. Can I use Slimserver software to control
the Squeezebox? I am mostly concerned with controlling volume and music
selection. Or do I have to buy another Squeezebox to do that?

Many thanks.
Mark

open a browser to http://<serverip>:9000/

where <serverip> is the ip address, or the dns name of the computer that
is currently running slimserver. you will then have control of your
squeezebox. same as you would on the computer running slimserver.

Changed CRFS protection to "High" ...

Not sure what the acronym is, but I was experimenting and changed the
setting from "Medium" to "High" and have a username/password set for my
Slimserver and now I can't get in. It keeps telling me my password is
wrong. Also, I'm using the Slimserver on the Infrant ReadyNAS NV so I
apparently don't have (or can't find) a "prefs" file anywhere. The
hidden share "slimserver" only contains the database file.

Help! I have totally locked-myself out of my Slimserver now.

Re: Newbie: Moodlogic Question?

I think I've sorted it.

I've upgraded to 6.5.1 but in doing so I saw the notes on the
installation page that says there is a limitation that there is No way
to trigger song based Instant Mix for the currently playing song. So
have tried it against an Artist and it works fine.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Lists of Internet Radio Providers and Stations?

It would be great if Slimdevices could add Reciva to their stable of
providers. I did ask Reciva about the possibility of this a few months
back and got a rather terse "not possible" in reply.
