Re: Re: Midi COntrol

From
http://www.sonicstate.com/digital/model.cfm?modelID=242&catid=7&manid=2

The MEP-4 is a Midi Event Processor, accepting incoming midi data and modifying it to the midi outputs. Four
micro processors are included, allowing very flexible midi operation. Examples of use would be: split a
single keyboard in four ways, independently transposed, midi echo, on a different note and sound,
connect a drum machine to the MEP4 and play the kick drum with your sustain pedal, accent only strongly
played notes with another tone generator, set aftertouch to send pitch bend messages, etc. Other
features include
up to 60 patches can be programmed - even a 9 character name can be assigned , data presetter functions for
patch change of connected instruments at once , channel filtering , message filter, data modifier (as in
examples above + much more) delay processor (echo from 0 - 3000 ms, more), output assigner , 1 midi in/4 outs
+ 1 thru , 16 character backlit LCD.

Hope this helps. It's a Swiss Army knife for any sort of MIDI Controller problem.

Re: Re: Midi COntrol

It's a unit that performs real time conversion of MIDI commands/ Events from one type to another type.

Google for the owners manual to the Yamaha MEP4

The company MIDI Solutions in Canada makes similar products.

Re: Re: Midi COntrol

The Bome MIDI Translator does some of these things as well.

I prefer the MEP4 because, as hardware, it puts no additional strain on my laptop.
Just a personal preference, though. I have used one since 1985.

Re: Yuri's Night

Hi,

I've found this on eBay, not sure if it's the real DB50XG or a clone. Can't see the Yamaha logo on it.

Can anyone tell if it's the real thing?

Thanks,

The auction description looks correct to me, making the board the same
thing as a Yamaha DB60XG. To double check I took a look at a DB60XG
photo and they do look nearly identical. The only difference I could see
was the Yamaha has a plastic body crystal where as the NEC has a metal
can one. Definitely not a big deal and it's likely that either one could
be found using either package. In any case it would not affect the
sound.

I think there are minor differences between a DB50XG and a DB60XG
regarding patch mapping so AX100's using the DB50XG use different
firmware than ones with the DB60XG.

Thanks,

Dave

Re: PG-380 owners manual

I have tried to upload the manual a few times. Unfortuantely the last
message I got said there was no more space allocated for the group to upload
files. I have forwarded the manual in another email

Re: If I own a GR 55 do I still need my GI20 Midi Guitar Interface/Converter?

Would keeping the GI 20 somehow allow MIDI recorded track be routed to any of the voices of the GR 55?

hardware modules that are better.

I don't see how it could work, but I could be wrong.
