GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

Hi

I have followed the manual carefully to minimize tracking problems.

The testing of individual String sensitivity only yields 1 -2 lights
as opposed to 5 (no matter how hard I pluck)

So for now, playing simple scalar passages slowly still yields
tracking problems

any suggests and ideas why my string sensitivity indicator only reaches 1?

thanks ! :)

Sebas

RE: GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

How far is your hex pickup from the strings? It must be about 0.5mm at the
high E and 1mm at the low E.

Mm = Millimeters. So this is VERY close compared to what you are used to
with the main pickups.

This is an extremely important fix. If it isn’t done right the synth will
never be able to perform correctly.

Fret the ax at the highest fret and then perform this height adjustment.

RE: GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

The Roland recommended clearance is 1 mm (they provide 1mm gauge with the GK-2a/3). In practice, string
gauge is also a factor. If you use heavy strings, you probably should make the clearance a fraction more for
the low E.

midi pedalboard/expression pedal issue with Roland gr33

I've just upgraded my pedalboard from the small Ground Control to the
Pro. I'm controlling four midi devices, Triaxis, acoustic guitar
preamp, effects processor, and the Roland gr33. When I change a preset
to the synth, no matter what position the volume pedal is in I get full
volume. The moment I touch the pedal I have full control. I don't have
this issue with the other midi devices. I would like the synth to
recognize the pedal position. It does on the old ground control. The
gr33 defaults to midi channel 11 for preset changes and cc007 for
volume control. Voodoo Labs(Ground Control) has been helpfull but are
stumped on this one. Roland is of very little help. I even tried
putting the synth first in the midi chain to see if info was getting
through or not. Any suggesstions?

Any Seoul-based midigitarists on this list?

I am going on a business trip to Seoul this January and i am interested in checking out the local electronic
music scene and also I would be interested in any opportunity to perform live with my midiguitar and
laptop. The style is experimental/improvised jungle/d'n'b with jazzy midiguitar. Can someone please
point me to the right club/event or crowd or forum . Any helpful information shared would be greatelly appreciated.
Thanks
Anya

FS Roland U220 Bundle w extra cards, SKB, Alexander Book

Hi All,
I have a Roland U220 Rack Mount Synth Bundle FS. Includes Roland U220, Owners Manuals, Alexander
Publishing Guide, How to Program and Use the U220 and a set of 8 U220 U110 add on sound cards, including all
the orchestra cards and the guitar cards.

Comes already mounted inside an SKB 4 Rack Space Flight Case. The Roland has two card slots so you can insert
two different add on cards at one time.

I will be putting the Roland Bundle up on Ebay this weekend. I have not decided yet what my auction starting
price will be yet. I also have to figure out what the shipping cost would be and hunt for a box to put the SKB
inside, since every shipper uses dimensional weight now, meaning box size is more important than actual
shipping weight.

I will have full info in the ebay listing. The U220 works very well with all midi guitars. The Roland Guitar
Patches are very good and the 220 allows you to stack up to 6 of them at one time, depending on how many layers
the sound has.

Re: GI 20 TWEAKS NEWBIE QUESTION

When strings get too close to the magnetic hex pickups, the magnetism reduces their movement (the same
applies to normal pickups).

The effect increases with the gauge of the string. So if you use heavy strings, say gauge 12 or more for the low
E, you may want to increase the gap to a fraction more than the Roland recommended 1 mm. Just experiment.

Made a typo in my last message. It shold say: "...... gauge .052 or more for the low E".
