PC2 Manager error

Hi group. I know that the Sonikmatter list is probably the more direct route, but I wonder if anyone has been
using PC2 Manager to back up their setups? I gave it a try last night on a Windows 7 machine (given the vintage
of version 1.1, there may be some incompatibility). Anyway, while the "Receive" dialogue indicated that
30 banks were loaded successfully, when I clicked the "OK" button, it was an error message that said "F0
expected". Does this seem normal or indicative of me making a silly mistake?

Thanks.

David

Help with file spliting

Please be patient with my lack of Kurzweil communications and knowledge, it's been a long time since I've
done anything with my keyboard.
I've recently decided to join a band and will have to do most of the horn and electronic sounds. This is a dance
band/oldies type band.
Here's my question. I want to put two or more different programs into one. I know I've done this before but
it's been so long ago I can't remember how to do that.
Can someone give me some instructions? I have a K2500 keyboard and I've had it for probably 10 years, but as
I've said it's been awhile since I've done much with it.
Thanks,
Don........

Re: Help with file spliting

Two ways:

SETUP:

You find or make a setup that has two zones.
In the SETUP edit mode, you can assign programs to,
and set the keyranges for each zone.

It's pretty easy, and you can combine programs even if they have
kind of complex layer structures.

PROGRAM:

You can also enter Program Edit, and import layers from
other programs as needed. It's a little trickier, because
when you import the layers, you have to use soft buttons
to make sure you are selecting both the program and it's
layer to import.

In either case, it is possible that the effects for one
or the other program might get compromised. You can pick
whichever has the most important effects sound and make
sure to use that effect preset (or KDFX Studio-- if you have
KDFX), and make sure to load it into your final program or
setup.

Have fun with your new band!!

Startup Message: Running Engine [00036000]

I turned on my keyboard this morning with no sound and a start-up message that says "Running Engine [0003600]"

I am completely boggled?... I haven't done anything but play through a speaker and maybe record into
Protools. We had a power outage a few days ago.. but I played it after that...

When I power on it goes through the same "wait" messages and then lands on the above message. I tried changing
the battery and doing a hard reset by holding down the "panic" button. I still get the same message.

Please help me find a solution. This is my main keyboard.

Re: Startup Message: Running Engine [00036000]

Which model is it?

Unplug the unit and remove the batteries and leave them out overnight.
For K2000, there's not much more you can do before opening it and
looking for loose connections, etc.

If it is a K2500 or K2600:
After you replace the batteries, and during startup, press "Exit" in the first part of
starting up. If that works, and you can enter the boot loader you can then:
* try a hard reset
* reinstall OS and Objects (then another hard reset)
* run some diagnostics that are not meant for you to use

I'm hoping you can just do the hard reset and be back in business.
Re-installing the OS and objects are easy enough-- follow the instructions.
You have to install all the appropriate objects in one session.

Re: kurzlist board

Thank you for your kind words. The owner of the list was nice and allows me along with him to catch spam before
it is posted. I thank him for his trust in my capabilities to help keep the list clean. If I am not doing my job
quick enough please feel free to let me know and I will increase the number of time each day I check the list
for problems. I am here to help the owner and all members to have a wonderful group where we can share
information on Kurz equipment.
