mute a layer

Hello everybody

I've got the 2600 (without any expansion)

How can I mute a layer in a program? 

is it the same with setup mode?

What the the Q Access is used for?

I am working with cubase sx--can someone recommend me what should I add to my k2600

This question would fall under the RTFM catagory.
(Read the "fabulous" manual). But to give you a quick answer...

If you want to mute a layer while you are in edit mode
(just to isolate what you are hearing) there are two
possibilities. If there are only three layers in the
program, then the PROGRAM, SETUP, and Q ACCESS buttons
are mutes for layers 1, 2, and 3 respectively. Easy.

If there are more than 3 layers, than the PROGRAM button
mutes the current layer, and either of the SETUP or the
Q ACCESS buttons (it doesn't matter which) mutes all other
layers but the current layer. If you want to "SOLO" the layer
you are working on press SETUP or Q ACCESS. If you change the
layer you are working on (by pressing CHAN/BANK UP or DOWN)
the solo'ed layer will change with it.

I think those mute buttons would now mute the programs
(not the layers) of the setup in the same way.

When I play live, it is sometimes nice to put a set's worth
of programs in QA bank. It assigns a group of up to 10 programs
to a quick access bank that are assigned to the numbers of the
ten number keys. You can press the number 4 and program 80

Output issue tip

Hi everyone.

I wanted to share a tip with you. I was having output problems with my
K2500RS, the stereo outputs did not work and the (A) pair was not balanced
with the left much louder than the right. I tried spraying cleaner onto a
1/4" cable and plugging and unplugging it several times to try and clean out
the socket but that didn't help. I brought it into a service center, paid
$50 and they fixed it. The problem was that there were internal connections
that were dirty. So my tip is if you are having any output issues with an
older unit (mine was on tour for about 5 years so it's pretty worn), before
you take it in, try unplugging and cleaning all internal connections.

There ya go.

added to it? Then here is your chance! CD Sequencer is a MIDI 
recording tool that synchronises to the audio CD that is loaded in 
your PC. Restart the recording at any point. Edit the recorded notes 
in a piano roll or events list. Record the end result in a wave audio 
file that can be placed on a recordable audio CD.

Midiboard keys sticking

So, I recently bought a midiboard because I wanted to play with poly
pressure (already have a K2600XS which I love) and because I wanted a
second 88 note controller in the house so the GF and I could play at
the same time..

The beast finally arrived... With Version 3.0 of the software. And
WOW, just WOW. Poly pressure is AWSOME. I can't fathom why it's not
more popular. 

On the downside, some of the keys are sticking on my midiboard.. Not
badily, but just a little.  Does anyone have the service manuals or
diagrams of the action?  I'd like to fix it, but the darn thing is so
heavy that I'd rather know exactly what I was going to do before I
open it up.

Any tips?

Also, what does v3.1 of the rom offer over 3.0? Should I breakout my
old  EPROM burner and go hunting a 3.1 rom?

Arpeggiator on K2661

Hi All,

I just joined this forum as I am thinking of buying a K2661. 

Does the K2661 have an Arpeggiator functionality like the Korg Triton
has. The arpeggiator knobs on Triton are handy. I could not find
anything of that sort on K2661.

Also would appreciate if some one can tell me any store that has a
display of the board. I called all the dealers on the Kurz official
site but none of them seem to have K2661 display.
