updated full version karma track... web site update and new samples

The track we entered in the 1st round for the Karma competition is completed for the CD. It's a bit over 9
minutes. Sample is on the main band site. Look for Karma (working title) also Garden of Shadows was added
today in the samples. Nope they are not full length but a few minutes of clips.

Do drop us a note how you like them. Unlike a lot of EM that I too have heard, we seldom have the same beginnings
as the end, if you know what we mean. We tend to more evolve the music a bit.

If you want to download the full length versions of these tracks, they will be at the music forte site.
Sometime tomorrow I will place these two there.
<they are there now>

Of course, those who have internet radio programs or promo sites, do contact me, I'll send you a CD with all
the details of these tracks.

Lots of synths (hard and soft) in use on these two, Karma software with Extreme of course...ION, MS2000 and others...

Extra : (hey if you got a myspace account, add us, networking is good)

CD2 (double cd) will feature even more Karma use... ;-)

The track as we submitted for the contest is still at karma-labs, you can compare the sample to it to see what
we did afterwards... ;-)

Re: Re: updated full version karma track... web site update and new samples

Thanks Eric
This one is a Wes and I track. I have the extreme and karma program, Wes
added his parts in. We did it for the karma-lab contest. Later we decided to
use it as a track on cd1 (Space Elevator). So we re-did it a bit. ;-)

Re: MusicianTutorials and software downloads from HitSquad

Hi Stephen,
Hitsquad has some really great music software downloads - many
freebies. I know you were trying to get into VSTi for a time there.
Anyway, I've found some amazing soft synths the will blow your sox
off. Here's a link for the download page - http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/

If you sign up for the email MusicSoftware Weekly, you'll get alerts
and links to some really cool new/old stuff.
Cheers,
Eric

Re: Music ianTutorials from HitSquad

Eric:

I wonder if you could help me. I have a Karma and was considering upgrading with the MOSS card (adding more
sounds to those available). The music I need is most like movie/tv soundtrack (evoke a sense of movement,
creating a "aural landscape" and such). If you have any recommendations for add-ons that would help add to
the available options, I'd really appreciate it, whether it's Korg, Karma or some other source.

Thanks.

You seem to have a wealth of information.

Steve

Re: Music ianTutorials from HitSquad

Hi Steve,
In regards to MOSS within the Karma, you add another 6 voices for a
total of 68 voice poyphony. MOSS is quite an interesting animal that
can be programmed for sounds ranging from ambient to techno. Here is
a link to my MOSSTER.pcg demos:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=100082
You'll hear what I mean. This first one - Wishing Stone - is quite
ambient, while the rest are techno oriented.
Now, my recommendation for movie/soundtrack projects would include
Spectrasonics collections, especially Atmosphere. EastWest libraries
(Colossus) would be another. There is a freebie called Crystal that
is worthwhile as well as the HGFortune freebies (Protoplasm, STS, and
Swamp). Check out KVR support group for links or do a Google search.
These, of course are software based. Karma can be used as a
controller, but CME controllers are great, built tough, reasonably
priced, and quite effective. I would check these out. Naturally,
G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) generally results from doing some
online research.
If you get MOSS, then MOSSTER is the only "Karma-fied" collection
of combis. Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eric
