Will this display work?
Hi one more advice: is this display compatible with K5? http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280657943510&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Thanks ------------------------------------

I haven't verified, but IIRC, one of those has the good controller. Not sure of the pinout and mechanical fit though. http://futurlec.com/LCDDisp.shtml Le 2011-07-01 09:54, cristoforcolombo a écrit : > Hi > one more advice: is this display compatible with K5? > http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280657943510&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT > > Thanks > > > > ------------------------------------ > > Yahoo! I'll try it and let you know Many thanks --- In k5synth@..., Antoine Deschênes <antdes45 <at> ...> wrote: > > I haven't verified, but IIRC, one of those has the good controller. Hi
I have had problems making this match the output of an Optrex or Toshiba display
even though the pinout and controller language are the same.

Although this has the same controller language I don't believe it is compatible.
There are some things you would have to do to the electronics to make the displays match

| I think the display viewing angle is different. Something might have to be changed on the contrast pin or on some resistors on the lcd the set the contrast or viewing angle. --- On Fri, 7/1/11, cristoforcolombo <sharm.band-Re5JQEeQqe8AvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> wrote:

That's an interesting point; I have a radio with a similar problem, and I wonder if something like that might be causing it. I just replaced the backlight on my K5 last week and was having some trouble a few days later; previously it would sometimes reset itself and I would see some random lines running across the display, but after I put the new foil in it started happening more and more until I wasn't able to use the Kawai for more than a few minutes at a time. The connections seemed okay, so I thought it might have something to do with the power supply. I moved the K5 into another room, plugged in a different power cord, and it's been working fine ever since. I know that there is a problem with the circuit breaker for the room it was in (it's an old house); maybe the K5 was just sensitive to the fluctuations in current. A different contrast potentiometer maybe? --- In k5synth@..., Mo Morgan <lightsforsynths <at> ...> wrote: > > I think the display viewing  angle is different.
