So tell me, exactly who is it then that is calling for the government
backstop underwater mortgages and renegotiating principle balances
based on the "homeowner's ability to pay"? Who is it that is also
proposing to backstop 2nd mortgages and home equity loans and backstop
credit cards. Who is it that is suggesting we give billions of
taxpayer dollars to failing automakers, insurance companies and other
non-banks? All of these things are socialist policies implemented by

Re: On Tuesday, will America replace 'cowboy capitalism' with Marxism?

Apples and oranges sir.

The two are not integrally connected, so I can oppose them on their
individual merits.

And in principle I do. I don't mind a tax break for my class, nor do I
really get bent about raising the rich up from 35% again.

I do care about the small businesses that will get hit by this, and I am
tired of giving huge tax credits to people who pay no taxes in the first
place, so they get more back than they paid in. That is not a credit, that
is a give away.

And I opposed both of them for signing the faux bailout. Since they both
did, I have to move on to the issues that divide them, it is too late on
that one.

They both may smell, but only one of them stinks.

It's kind of funny, actually, how the video goes on and on about gay
marriage and homosexuals, but then, as an example of the great Christian
movements that have come out of California, it includes a picture of
Lonnie Frisbee baptizing someone. Lonnie is the gay (or bisexual) hippie
who performed miracles and helped Chuck Smith and John Wimber start their
respective churches in the '70s and '80s. He died of AIDS in the '90s.

could afford, paying my credit card balances every month and being generally
responsible with my money. I should have been maxing out my credit cards
and HELOCs. My neighbors are getting mortgages renegotiated and getting
lower payments and I'm stuck paying for my mortgage and theirs (and the
added insult of paying for the banks derivative investments on those
mortgages). This is more socialist than any liberal has proposed to date.
Literally Trillions of dollars...<

All of that is off the charts wrong, but to be fair that is happening right
now and not a result of the mortgage buyout stupidity proposed by McCain.

Re: On Tuesday, will America replace 'cowboy capitalism' with Marxism?

Income tax is theft at worst and indentured servitude at best. Progressive
income tax is worse than that. How on any objective level is it fair to
charge one person more tax than another?
