February rocks!

Hey folks!  I'll be playing with the Treading Lemmings this Saturday night,
February 16 at the Velvet Lounge.  We'll be sharing the bill with Lindsey
Buckingham Palace and the Remaindermen.  Doors open at 9pm, show starts at
9:30 and tickets are $8.

The Lemmings will also be doing a longer three set night with some covers and
acoustic numbers at the Potomac Grill in Rockville on Friday, March 1.

U-Liners in Adams Morgan, Thursday January 24

Hey friends, it's time for the first U-Liners show of 2013!

We'll be playing tomorrow, Thursday January 24, at Club Heaven 2327 18th
St. NW, opening for the John Lee Experience.  John is a friend of the band and
a great guitarist who sometimes sits in with us.  The U-Liners will be playing
a one hour set from 8:30 to 9:30, with JLE going on at 10pm.

Tickets in advance for $8 or $12 at the door.

Hey folks, just wanted to send out a quick reminder that the U-Liners are
playing our last show of 2012, this Saturday December 15 at the New Deal Cafe
in Greenbelt, MD.

As Joe put it: Close out Woody Guthrie's Centennial year of celebration and
honor Greenbelt's 75th Anniversary with this special show.

This Saturday with the Billy Coulter Band.

Hey friends!  I'll be sitting in this Saturday night with my old friends the
Billy Coulter Band, for two sets at The Music Cafe in Damascus, MD.  I'm
looking forward to playing the old songs I used to play back when I was in the
band, and jamming on some of the new muscular rockers Billy's written since
then.  Of course, I'm psyched to play with my fellow Cravin' Dog John
Penovich, and rejoin the Basher Doug Tull on drums.

Ty Braddock will be opening and maybe joining us on stage.

U-Liners this Thursday - Jerry Garcia Tribute

Hi folks, just a reminder and an gentle noodge.  The U-Liners will be playing at our annual Jerry Garcia
tribute this Thursday, August 2nd.  This year, we'll be part of a triple bill with the fantastic John K Band
and On The Bus.  You might know John from his work with Dark Star Orchestra and Furthur (Weir and Lesh, so he's
definitely "bringing the Dead cred" :).

The show should be really great, and we have Eli Gonzales joining us again on sax, and the wonderful Becky
Warren joining us on vocals.  Only... get your tickets now!  Don't wait like the Woody Guthrie tribute.  I've
heard the show is almost sold out.

upcoming shows

Hi folks, a couple of reminders about upcoming shows.

This Saturday, July 14, the U-Liners are paying tribute to Woody Guthrie's
100th birthday with a show at the Takoma Park Civic Auditorium.  The fantastic
Magpies are opening the evening, then we'll play a set, and we'll likely close
the night with a raucous selection of songs together.  The show starts at
7:30pm.

Tickets are $15 and it's nearly sold out, so if you want to come, buy them
now.  The show is sponsored by the Institute of Musical Traditions, and
tickets are available at www.imtfolk.org.

Also, on Thursday, July 12, I'll be hanging with some friends in Bethesda, at
the Box Bar & Grill, 7525 Old Georgetown Road.  I'll be part of the house band
for a night sing-and-play along, so you are invited to bring your
instruments.  This is the first time we've tried it, and I think we'll have a
projector to put the chords and lyrics up on a floor-to-ceiling screen.  At
least I hope so, because I have no idea what we're going to be playing, but
they should be "classics" :).  We start at 8pm and go to 10pm, and there's no
cover.

Don't forget that on Thursday, August 2nd, the U-Liners will be at the
Hamilton in DC for the first time, playing our annual Jerry Garcia tribute.
Actually this year, we'll be joining the fantastic John K Band, and one other
for a great night of diverse Dead and Garcia tunes.

Looking ahead to September, the U-Liners will be at JV's in Falls Church on
the 22nd.

Upcoming June Shows

Hi folks.

I just wanted to send out a reminder about some upcoming gigs.

This Saturday, the U-Liners will be playing a 45 minute set at the Glen Echo
Folk Fest, starting at 4:15pm.  We're on the Chautauqua Stage, and we'll be
doing a bit of a stripped down set.  Our drummer Larry won't be with us so
we'll be playing a more acoustic set of great music.

Then on Sunday, the Cravin' Dogs will be playing two shows at Blues Alley!
It's been years since I've played there, and it's great to be getting back.
No, we won't be playing our Jazz Odyssey sets - it'll be the usual roots
rocking mix of mostly originals and a few covers.  We play two shows at 8pm
and 10pm, but we've been told that if you come to the 8pm show, you're welcome
to stay for the 10pm show at no extra charge.  I think you even get to keep
your seats. :)

Then on Thursday, June 7th it's back to the U-Liners at Hill Country BBQ, for
a night of great roots music starting at 8:30pm, with the full band.
